When cities are divided by ethnic, culture, or color we open the first gap towards racism, because we are not accepting others as human, bus as something else, just because they do not have the same ideology or they just look different.

Ever since Donald Trump won the Republican Party nomination many popular conservative media figures and politicians have refused to endorse him some even saying they would vote for Hilary Clinton,the Democratic Party nomine, over Trump.

For the 2016 presidential election I will be eighteen years old, so I plan to vote for Bernie Sanders. Bernie Sanders seems like a good candidate to be elected as the new president of the United States because he cares about us the people. A few reasons why Bernie Sanders would make an excellent president are because he plans to make college free, open work opportunities, and give everyone a reasonable work wage with those new jobs. However, the most important reason for me as a woman would be Bernie’s proposal to fight for women’s rights.

In addition, racism gives people an awful perspective of life and sometimes, if one is looking up to a racist, the racist’s point of view begins to alter the person’s judgement. Racism could also lead to great conflict arising from those who heavily despise that race and maybe even mass killings, which foreshows that racism needs to be stopped and ended completely.

Racism has, and always has had, a great effect on American society. Still to this day, even after the civil war over slavery in the 19th century and the anti-segregation movements of the 20th century, countless peoples still face ridicule over the color of their skin or the shape of their face. If it were to be taught in schools that judging someone based on their appearance is bad, then perhaps there wouldn’t be such an integration of racism in modern American society. Not simply learning ‘don’t be a racist’ in a high school social studies course while half asleep or thinking of what’s for lunch, but the concept of just how much it can affect someone’s life in such a negative way should be taught to children throughout their whole school careers.

Racism has always existed with humans. Racism is treating someone differently of unfairly simply because they belong to a different ethnic community of have a different religion or nationality. When someone believes their race is better than another and feels superior ro other people because of his of her race, is called racism. Throughout time, many people have lost their lives, or lost their families and children, and are left without homes due to racism. Racism causes wars, which could destroy humanity ultimately. Feeling superior or more powerful than another race shows the evil within racism. World War II is a war that was caused by racism. The main reason behind the war was that Hitler felt that his race was superior compared to the other races, such as the jews and gypsies. The end result was a death count between fifty million to eighty million people. eleven million of them being jewish people. The slavery of the African people is an example of when people undermined a group of people based on their race, and ended with dire consequences. The white people used force and power to “rule” over the Africans, which ended up with about sixty million Africans to die. I believe that racism can be stopped in three ways. First educate yourself about racism as much as possible and learn about the consequences of it, next, we need to see people as equals and as human beings, and lastly, we cannot give up or fail to speak up if you see racism in action.
