Cheating has become one of the world wide epidemics that continuously increases by the second with students in schools across the country. A main cause with cheating becoming such a major havoc for students educational errors has been technology. Schools now across the globe long for to ban students’ devices from classes or the create a more efficient way of not letting students have that advantage of cheating. Academic dishonesty caught the attention of Professor Howard Johnson at the University of South Florida, he believes that any form of cheating should have a ban in schools due to students using their devices for cheating. Johnson states “ Cheating in school continues to be rampant, A substantial majority(60%) cheated on a test during the past year (35% did so two or more times) and one in three (33%) said they used the internet to plagiarize an assignment. Johnson saw these statistics as it is being a key point to start holding bans on technology and punishing e-cheating. The key factor that gets these educators all concerned is because the students do not learn at all, the way they get answers to homework, quizzes, and test is by looking at their cell phones. Numan Kayisoglou states in the article, “While the average attitude level score from the scale was 167.5, the average score of the students who participated in the present research, was 199.19, which indicates that students present an above average attitude towards cheating.” The difference between students that cheat and do not cheat is very high due to the statistics being shown above. Cheating is continuously affected everyone because we give up too much on the little things which we do not apply effort.
