Gun Control/The weapon of Choice Gun Control laws have been up for debate lately as to whether they should be regulated or not in the United States. I think it depends on what type of control over guns is being enforced. As many may know handguns are easily concealed, and they are often the weapon of choice for people who choose to use them for self-defense. Sadly they are also the weapon of choice for criminals which makes it harder for the responsible gun owners and this is where the Gun Control facts play a key role in decision making. Gun control supporters believe that completely banning handguns is the best way to protect citizens, “but there are already nearly 300 million privately owned guns in the US or about nine guns for every 10
Increased Gun Control While the Obama Administration is attempting to put restrictions on and do away with some specific guns, criminals are finding them on the black market. Putting restrictions on gun ownership violates the 2nd Amendment right which is, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, and the right to self defense. The key to keep our nation safe is not having armed citizens but experienced and informed citizens. We need to focus on the values of our people, the part media plays in the violence and the huge lack of respect for our law enforcement. “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people” (debate.org) The President Obama administration in response to the gun crisis and violence happening in today 's society is attempting
However, guns cause violence and death. Therefore, guns must be eliminated and should take away from the mentally ill and criminals. I want everyone to support the fact that people are being harm without any mistake. Join hands to be protective of each other and make the criminals feel guilty of what they have done so far. Government have allowed everyone to purchase guns for self defense not to take advantage of the guns.
Is Gun Control necessary? Would it make a big difference in today’s society? Well, many of America’s people have strong opinions on gun control and seem as if they are either completely against it, or completely for it. Gun control does not drastically influence the crime rates linked to guns. Gun Although advocates argue that gun control laws reduce the incidence of violent crimes by taking away firearms; Gun laws barely effect violence rates, criminals would often go against the law, and there are several loopholes to defy gun laws.
Despite this, gun control advocates say the recent shootings prove that the gun laws are way too weak. However, nearly all shootings have happened in no-gun zones. This is because violent shooters know that people in gun-free zones don’t have any fire-arms , meaning they can’t protect themselves. It’s pretty obvious that guns are the most reliable means of defense, and give people the chance to protect themselves from violent attackers and not get as hurt. All anti-gun laws do is take away the protection of citizens by disarming them, putting them in
Also, when the mental illness card is played, it takes out all other factors as to why a shooter may want to do a mass shooting. For example, poverty, substance abuse, unemployment or other stressor can be to blame for the cause of violent acts. Again this is not a valid excuse, however the only causation in the media’s perspective should not just be mental illness. (Murphy). Some say that gun owners need to have a mental health screening before they are allowed to buy a gun because of the fear that it may fall into the wrong hands.
2. I don 't think that teachers should be armed either. I feel like someone that has a gun should go through an extensive training (that doesn 't just last a couple of days or a background check) and should prove they are capable of handing a gun only when necessary. I lived in one of the most dangerous countries in the world, and I saw how license guns only increased the violence. People used guns to protect their loved ones yet that one person who was harmed also had people that cared about them who wanted revenge.
Do you have a gun in your household? Should people carry guns with them? Michael Steele once said,”You can have all the gun control laws in the country, but if you don 't enforce them, people are going to find a way to protect themselves. We need to recognize that bad people are doing bad things with these weapons. It 's not the law-abiding citizens, it 's not the person who uses it as a hobby.“Gun control is an important thing to know about and why it either helps people or doesn’t help them.
In the United States of America certain regulations are definitely necessary for public safety. The regulations are there to better the nation and not further control it. The government can not get rid of everyone 's right to own and keep a gun but, they can simply control the amount of guns able to be purchased. Therefore, the government is not taking away peoples guns but, simply regulating those who can or cant not own them to better protect the citizens of America. And thus any remarks about the government taking away peoples guns are untrue, the government is doing this for everyone 's well
The second amendment of the constitution, the right to bear arms is a heated subject for everyone across the world right now. Many people believe that taking away gun rights is “Not American” and goes against everything we are about, here in the land of the free. Many can argue also that it’s not the guns that kill people, it’s the people. It is unfair to take away something from everyone when only certain people shouldn’t be using them, because they aren’t mature enough to handle weapons. To begin with, many people believe that guns should be taken away because of all the shootings and dangerous events going on all around the world.
