RELIGION to the GODS AND DEITIES of ANCIENT EGYPT BY: Rory Adrian McBeath ’`’`’`’`’``’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’`’` For human beings, religion can be a way of seeing things in the world, and also a way to answer questions that are hard to know the answer to. Through studying Ancient Egypt, it’s clear that religion was an important part of Ancient Egypt’s society and history, so how did religion affect different parts of society? Similar to how we think of religion today, it guided every aspect of life. For example ancient Egyptians would pray to a god when they needed help with a problem. Many people do that today--like
They are responsible for themselves and only themselves. The whole psychology of it, the strengthening of religion in hardship isn’t totally absurd. It would seem through all the loss involved in situations like the Holocaust or 9/11, that some aspects aren’t completely lost. Perhaps putting all one’s faith in a God could supply help to make it through extremely difficult times. It could help keep people alive as they wait for some sort of redemption or subtle sign that their God is there with them.
One important reason why all people need help is that God created people in this way. Even before the Fall of human, people need help from God. They had a close walk with God and they dependent on God for all the provisions. God created people in a special way, which was different from any other animal. Mankind are revelation receivers, interpreters and worshipers.
Religion or religious systems have been a guide for humans to find a sense of purpose and well-being. It has pathways to block the outside influences. Outside influences can take human-beings away from being civil, and most people from a sense of belonging through the word of
All religions have values (usually to do good, and to avoid wrong) which further influences positive decision making amongst religious people. An example of this would be the 10 Commandments which play a big role in the lives of Cristian 's and how they should live. Most people 's behaviors is influenced by what they believe to be cultural norms and values, therefor cultural values play a big role in influencing people 's decisions. If someone were to value traits like honesty or integrity (for example) their decisions will be made based around these traits, as apposed to someone who doesn 't value these
RELIGION CAUSES MORE HAARM THAN GOOD TO SOCIETY Religion according to the oxford dictionary is the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power especially a personal God or gods. Every human being in one way or the other belongs to a particular religion. Since religion makes us worship one God then it should be binding all of us. Actually it is not, it rather tears people apart day in and day out .It is true that religion has influenced society positively in diverse ways, but the bad outweighs the good. Thus I think religion causes more harm than good to the society.
There exists a world where there are over 10,000 different religions. Dr. Mary Turk in her article ‘How does religion affect your mind’ says, “Religion is a defined as the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God.” Religion acts as a deadly weapon leading to the murder of internal emotions and relations. In the novel ‘Kite Runner’ Amir says, “History isn’t easy to overcome. Neither is Religion. In the end, I was a Pashtun and he was a Hazara, I was Sunni and he was Shi’a, and nothing was ever going to change that.
Living life to its fullest without regard to what is going to happen to us after death is very important. Granted, we should still be cautious and not necessarily welcome death before it is the time for it. What we should do instead is simply be ready for death if the time comes. According to our article, religion can be used to accomplish this if it were to take a new form. As the article reads, “We need a religion that will show us that although we are only transient beings, and although we will never know a setup that differs in any radical way from the present one, it is nevertheless possible for us to commit ourselves to life so completely that we do experience eternal joy in life and can say that it has all been worthwhile.” (page 41) This means that we can use the common teaching of many religions that focus on treating others with kindness and respect to make the world a better place for those that are currently living in it, as well as for those that will live in it for years to come.
They respect their god more than anything and believe that people live to obey god. The main practices of Islam focus on the five pillars of Islam: Declaration of Faith, obligatory prayer, compulsory giving, Fasting in the month of Ramadan and Pilgrimage to Mecca: which include several holidays and rituals. Beliefs are important to Islam. They mainly care about the right beliefs about god, the right beliefs about humanity and the right beliefs about the universe. Something that Islam, Christianity and Judaism have in common, is that they all believe that there is only one god (which makes them monotheistic), which obviously lead to conflicts between the religions.
By building a strong foundation of one’s faith they are capable of assisting others as well as serving God. Serving as well as pleasing God grants one God’s favor. Possessing God’s favor will benefit one’s self in immeasurable and unexpected variations. There is a required balance with individualism. One must always attempt to improve one’s self and this is possible via helping others.
