Screen Time's Effect on Teens Most people only know about the negative effects of screen time, learning about the positive effects of using screens will help parents who are struggling with what to do about their teens screen use. Teens who use their screen time properly like using it for school or talking to friends experience the positive effect screen time has. Screen time positively impacts teens socially and academically. Screen time for teens can have a positive effect on teens mental health when using social media. Teens who use screens to help them learn academically improve. Using screens for educational use, like attending class, conducting research, or seeking out new information. When using screens teens can have access to more knowledge and information. When using screens academically teens can have access to different types of information. Screen time can make teens more distant with family. Even though screen time is making teens be distant with immediate family, they can get closer with extended family members. "Using screens to connect, to amplify. to interact. I would argue these behaviors are likely to enhance one's feeling of higher well-being," (“Are There Benefits of Screen Time for Teenagers?”). Teens screen use can have a positive effect socially and academically on teens. Teens who actively use social media have higher well-being. Using screens academically helps teens improve.
