As Americans lay their heads to rest every night, most know that their basic human rights will be granted to them in the morning. Unlike other countries, America is a place where the government is "of the people, by the people, and for the people". That means that the American citizens vote for the people they want to put into office and for some laws that will be passed; however, some people of other countries, Like Saudi Arabia, do not have that luxury and have to submit to punishments of stoning, floggings, etc. People, especially women, are subjected by extremely strict codes of Islam: Sharia law (or just Sharia). "In 1975 only one country 's legal system was based on the Islamic Sharia religious code ***: Saudi Arabia" (274) Carmen bin Laden said in "Postscript" to My Life in Saudi Arabia. Since then, many countries …show more content…
Lastly, Sharia law cannot coexist with a government "of the people, by the people, and for the people" because it would violate the American Constitution. One of the first things that the Constitution grants its American citizens is free speech; this means that people can say whatever they want. However, Sharia law does not grant such a luxury. It is against the code to "[criticize] or [deny] any part of Quran". If anyone under Sharia law violates said code, the punishment is death. Such a code could not exist in America. Feelings might be hurt and offenses might be made, but at the end of the day, no individual that freely speaks their mind will be stoned for doing so. Another code that could not coexist with the American government would be" "A Muslim who becomes a non-Muslim is punishable by death". This law could not be put into affect because people have the right to choose any or no religion that they want. In a land that houses so many different people, practicing different religions, from all around the world, such a law would be impossible to pass. Sharia law could not coexist with the Ameican government based on Constitutional
The Islamic Empire was huge, large, and untied. The early Islamic empire expanded by fiercely attacking and conquering other lands, as well as uniting them. To start off, In Document A (which is reliable because it happens to be written by Muslim historian Ahmad al-Biladuri in the 800s) it talks about how they killed 70,000 people. Even girls helped in creating a bloodbath which shows how fierce and strong they were on a battlefield and how they easily took more lands.
If our country hadn’t created the Constitution, we would be filled with tyranny which was the one thing that the colonists were trying to avoid. Tyranny means that one person has too much power and takes complete control. In 1787, 12 of the 13 states got together to try and better this country. In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the Constitution was written and made a guideline for the federal government making sure it would never become too powerful. Some may think that just a piece of paper would have no impact on them, but they would be in a world of shame if there wasn’t one.
Firstly, during the years around the time of the American
When a law can be resisted without bringing harm to anyone, then that law should not exist. There are, currently on the books, sodomy bans and legislation against atheists taking political office: These laws are insane. Further, it is the state's job to ensure not only that civil disobedience is possible, but that it works. When civil protest fails to achieve results, violence follows. If a people realize that their peaceful voices will not be heard, such as what occurred in France in 1789, then they shall instead use violent methods.
Abortion has been performed for a long time. It was legal in the United States from the beginning it was created/founded. “At the time the Constitution was adopted, abortions were openly advertised and commonly performed. ”(History of Abortion) But in the mid-to-late 1800s some states began passing laws that made abortion illegal.
Civil liberties are rights guaranteed to citizens in the Constitution that the government cannot interfere with, however, in the name of national security, they do. The government sometimes finds it necessary for Americans to give up some of their basic rights to keep the nation protected, but many people find this unnecessary. A law-abiding citizen’s extremely personal information should not be essential to finding terroristic threats within this society. Under no circumstances should an American citizen’s civil liberties be violated in a time of war or crisis, because those are assured rights that are most valuable to their freedom during national conflicts.
After the classical period the Islamic civilization showed an advancement in a variety of different aspects of their culture. They adopted a lot of it from earlier civilizations but had had a massive contribution on their part. The effect of this is that the Muslim culture and intellectual ideas were very long lasting. The achievements of the Islamic empires contributed to the development of their Golden Age.
A. PREAMBLE The terrorist attack on September 11, 2001 has sparked intense curiosity and interest in the world especially the West to learn and investigate the religion of Islam. The Muslim people are portrayed as violent and barbaric, and Islam as oppressive and antithesis to human rights values. Thus, escalation of public opinion about Islam has encouraged debates and forums, and also stirred demonstrations and movements which have compelled the Muslims to speak out their minds and interpret and recast their texts viz. Quran and Sunnah of prophet Mohammad and even question and challenge the prevailing culture and practices, and domineering structures.
The United States of America, being a country founded by immigrants, is known all over the world as the land of great opportunities. People from all walks of life travelled across the globe, taking a chance to find a better life for them and their family. Over the years, the population of immigrants has grown immensely, resulting in the currently controversial issue of illegal immigration. Illegal immigrants are the people who have overstayed the time granted on their US, visa or those who have broken the federal law by crossing the border illegally. Matt O’Brien stated in his article “The government thinks that 10.8 million illegal immigrants lived in the country in January 2009, down from a peak of nearly 12 million in 2007.”(Para, 2) While some argue that illegal immigrants burden the United States of America and its economy, others believe that they have become essential and are an important part of the US, economy.

Abortion legalization We can do whatever we want with our body, it is our property. What government can do about this is to suggest, not to suppress. However, more than 300,000 females around the world are carrying a rapist’s child, due to formidable pressure from the government’s authorities. Why should the government care about our body?
The center of Muslim norms and ethical standards are derived from four sources: the Koran, which is believed by Muslims to be the literal and perfect word of God; the Sunna, law based on Muhammad’s words and acts; analogical reasoning; and the consensus of the ulamā. However, the increasing complexity of biomedical discoveries and technological achievements have made it difficult for religious scholars to comprehend issues and formulate rules on the ethical acceptability according to Islamic law (Hathout 2176). One of the most important issues that religious scholars have addressed are women’s reproductive rights; specifically abortion. There is common misconception that Muslims have to adhere strictly to the Shariah and religious texts such
As a female Muslim (Muslimah) I became the witness of how western questioned Islam. They always ask about my right and my obligation to follow the rules of my religion. In their perspective, Islam violates my right when it comes to get my own decision. In fact, they see this point of view as the outsiders rather than the way a muslimah sees it. I honestly feel that Islam is the best religion that gives security to the woman.
