What is a teen activist? A teen activist is someone who inspires people to do good in the world. They take a little cause and make it known worldwide. I believe that if we have teen activists in the world, people will want to do good things to help them. If that is true teen activists could make our world a better place.
According to, “Teenage girl is dogs’ best friend,” “So I advertised him on TradeMe and he got a lot of interest and he went to a lovely home in Auckland.” This website had helped Faye get the puppies a home. She had also used facebook, to have people aware of the puppies that don’t have a home. One last person who had used her resources, was Malala. To raise money to build schools, she had created the website called, The Malala Fund.
What do you think when you hear kids speak out against problems in our world? Do you think, why should I listen to kids, what do they know? Teen activism is where young teens in their community stand up for what they believe in, and aren’t afraid to take risks, empower people, and make a meaningful change in the world. Teen activists are determined, they stand up for what they believe in, they care about the world and the environment, and their not apprehensive to speak out to others. Teen activists find their passion they want support, than reach out to friends, family, and even maybe strangers.

Malala was standing up for the right for girls to get an equal education when the Taliban planned to assassinate her. Their first try was shooting her near her left eye on a school bus. The Taliban did not back down after Malala recovered. This time she was shot in her ear which sent pieces of her skull into brain tissue. Once again, Malala did not want to give up on education.

In the Blue Ridge Humane Society, they will spay and neuter your pet for free. This is a no kill pet shelter, and they take animals that do not have a home, and takes good care of them until someone would like to adopt them. Unwanted and abused animals need help and that is when the Blue Ridge Humane Society takes care of them. People do not understand how many dogs, cats, and other animals there are that do
They give loads of information on their site and in events, they have made contests to create videos around schools to promote several ways to help animals like sterilizing your pets to assure the pet population won’t go up, microchipping your pet so you can find them if lost, not supporting puppy mills and animal cruelty, and much more friendly advice. They also have classes you can apply for to learn more about how to help animals. A group of my peers and some younger kids got the pleasure of asking questions to two animal officers, one of which with extensive experience and one new, and a veterinary technician. After reading the articles for this week, I could not help to come to a conclusion on how important identity is for the youth of America as well as the youth around the world and what it truly represents. There is power in understanding “who you are” and “what makes you “special” as an individual? Qualities of our individual identities make themselves present when we stimulate and practice the natural gifts we have come to inherit from birth. Whether it is physicality, intelligence, creativeness, or perseverance, we all have unique qualities that make us special. It is because we have the need to feel special about our identities that many educators our testing the intersections of identity and individuality within schools.
