Every teen, at some point in their high school career crave money thus leading to the option of possibly working towards getting a job. There are some fair shares of some positives and negatives when it comes to teens working during high school. A teens performance during school might falter or they can be led down the wrong pathway. Teens shouldn’t be working during high school because it can only lead to them facing a situation where they might pick the wrong option and face consequences for it throughout their lifetime. The main problem I believe all working teens face is the effects it has on their academic performance.
When the teen seems not to get past this conflict, they start having depression, which leads to suicidal thoughts. Suicidal thoughts take a time to develop; this doesn’t just happen in a day. The mental health of teenagers has been slowly deteriorating over time since smartphones and social media have become popular. There is lots of evidence that an extensive amount of time spent on these things are causing mental and emotional problems amongst teens, and yet kids still seem to love social media. This is because when teens post things that make themselves look good, it makes them feel better about themselves. But when they see posts of their friends hanging out and having fun without them, while they are sitting alone on their phones, it makes them feel unwanted and left out.
