The minimum drinking age needs to be lowered in order to create experienced and responsible drinkers for the future. The excuse that the government gives to young people, that they lack maturity and judgement, is condescending and ultimately creates a country where the youth does indeed lack maturity and judgement in regards to alcohol. If the Malaysia does not lower the minimum drinking age, then the problems that this country has with alcohol will increase. Lowering the drinking age to eighteen will not fix all of the drinking problems, but it will allow for an earlier introduction of teenagers to alcohol where they are more responsible and experienced for the
Alcohol can harm the develop of key body systems that are not finished developing. This argument wishes to give young adults an opportunity to let their bodies develop properly before consuming alcohol which could alter this process in a negative way. Another argument some have about keeping the drinking age at 21 is underage drinking happens and what would stop 15 or 16-year-olds from getting someone who is 18 to buy them alcohol. If the drinking age was 18 then the majority of high school seniors could buy and consume alcohol. This brings up another problem, alcohol in schools.
Accustomed to such inconsistent treatment. ……young people are bombarded with mixed signals about the scope of their rights and the depth of their responsibilities. And most of those mixed signals come from the laws of state and local government.” (Governing.com Page 1) These confusing laws make nothing easier and in fact they make young people’s lives more difficult.
Sexual activity can put teenagers at risk for several STIs and STDs, along with the risk of unexpected pregnancy. Substance abuse can also open the gateway to new potential diseases by weakening the immune system and offer an entry point for bacteria and viruses. Substance abuse can also lead to mental deterioration, physical ailments, and even death. Violence also is another dangerous risk behavior that adolescents often resort to. “Adolescent Risk Behaviors” notes “Rates of physical and sexual assault in dating relationships, including being beaten up and forced to have unwanted sex, range from 10 percent to 25 percent of high school students” (Crooks
Alcohol Age Limit Would you rather the drinking age limit be lower, higher, or does it even matter? The legal drinking age limit should stay at 21, it is a pretty mature age to handle alcohol and the age limit is always changing. Under aged kids always find a way to obtain alcohol, and often times parents do not care and they’ll buy their kids alcoholic drinks. Does this law really change anything?

Binge drinking can have a serious impact on Teenage society Analyse the risks associated with alcohol use in teenagers Teenage binge drinking is defined as the deliberate consumption of dangerous amounts of alcohol in short periods of time. Alcohol in Australia is legal, easily obtained, perceived as a socially acceptable drug and ingested during many recreational occasions; influencing the high rates of abuse and misuse amongst adolescents. Other influences include peer pressure, experimental behaviour, rebellion and achieving the desired effects of the depressant drugs (loss of inhibitions and sense of wellbeing). Binge drinking ultimately leads to mental illness, unsafe sexual activity and violence.
However, some people say that the legal age should be lowered, because it diminishes the thrill of breaking the law to get a drink. This argument falls apart when one considers that more 18 year olds will be exposed to doing dangerous
Some teens may be careless when it comes to driving but others are very safe and responsible. If you raise the driving age it would just take the excitement out of someone who is eager to do things on their own. The rule would leave a lot of people stuck in the house instead of enjoying life and experiencing new opportunities. I would hate to not be able to go anywhere because I couldn 't drive myself or nobody would be able to take me. With that being said, the state legislature should not pass the rule of raising the driving age from 16 to 18 years of age.
Underage drinking is a risk that attracts many developing adolescents and teens. A huge number of them wants to try alcohol, but often does not fully recognize its effects on their health and behavior. Underage drinking can in many ways harm the health of a large group of citizens in the US. During the teen age, the human body is developing. So, the consumption of alcohol may cause huge medical, social, legal, physical, and academic problems.
One main point that is argued is that younger brains are more susceptible to alcohol consumption and by lowering the drinking age, it would be approving the damage that alcohol causes in the developing brain. Emotional development, organization, and planning are all affected by alcohol consumption. Though it’s true that kids will still likely drink, that doesn’t mean society needs to approve of that decision. Another argument that is used is that more people drinking could create more unsafe environments. When people have too much alcohol, their decision-making skills are extensively lowered.

The main argument against this is that at 18 the individuals brain is still developing and alcohol could have a chance to disrupt that. Some of the problems that come along with drinking while your brain is still developing is depression, greater chance of addiction, violence, suicide,
It is always risky going into the military because anything could truly happen, but if someone is legally an adult and willing to die for other citizens lives, then that person should be able to have the option to drink an alcoholic beverage if they please. In the article “Should the Drinking Age Be….” it was said that, “Young Adults cannot help the fact that alcohol is an enjoyable activity. Eighteen to twenty year old adults should not be denied that enjoyment when other pleasurable activities are legal..” Not only are men and women allowed to risk their own lives for the United States, but also are allowed to vote and still cannot be considered a “mature” adult.
