paying college student’s tuitions there is no way the U.S will benefit. If college becomes free then students won’t have the require motivation to do good in school since their money isn’t at play. This for many creates a problem since if many people don’t try in college its becoming a waste of money that the U.S has to pay for. Not to mention just because they say its free it doesn’t mean it actually is. The money has to come from some place and where other than taxes.

Student athletes are not professional athletes or entertainers, and should not be paid for playing on a college team. Although, I no longer play sports the debate of college athletes and whether they should be paid or not still interests me. As a lot of people from Neuqua play sports, many of them should be concerned about the argument, because this could affect them in the future. When deciding what college to sign with, one factor is the amount of scholarship money that they are going to receive. College’s spend much more on athletes scholarships compared to academic scholarships that they give out.
Many believe it is absurd to still consider the NCAA amateur sports after all it has become but just as many think the exact opposite and that college athletes already receive fair compensation for their participation. This is a big decision that could impact the lives of thousands nationwide and revolutionize sports as we know it. College athletes should not be paid because of the many benefits that come with being a student athlete and because it is not a realistic resolution. One reason college athletes should not be paid is because of the many benefits there already are to playing a collegiate sport. One being reduced or free admission also known as a scholarship.
Michael Benotti Dr. Stoffer ENG 131 29 January 2018 College Tuition Unfair to Some People Like many people today, especially in America, they say that college is an opportunity that most would look forward to after graduating from a secondary education. However, the price of tuition in many schools is what concerns many individuals who seek the opportunity of pursuing their dreams and goals. When it comes to tuition, people would view the price tag and might have doubts about attending college or even question if college is the best option at all. Also, many colleges will offer financial aid, scholarships, and grants to their future students, especially the ones who come from a low-income family. For a student from a high-income family, the amount of aid will be significantly lower, and the overall cost will be higher.
In case the above forms of payments aren’t enough for all college athletes, there are other options if athletes show the need for more money. The NCAA is willing to provide extra money to “Pell Grant recipients” for personal items and travel home in case of emergencies (Gerdy 8). The opinion that college athletes shouldn’t be paid exists all around the country. College athletes shouldn’t be paid because they aren’t employees, the sports programs don’t have extra money, and the athletes are already receiving compensation for their work on the team. Although there are split opinions among the college students who are not athletes, many high school students who don’t plan on being athletes in college are against paying college athletes.

Choosing what to do for the rest of your life is challenging decision teenagers need to make. Some teenagers know definitely what they want to do in the future, some have no idea and some have ideas in their head but just does not have any assurance their idea would work out. One of the many decisions teenager need to make in their junior and senior year of highschool is, whether or not if they want to attend college. Going to college or not could be like black and white colors from a monochrome to some people. I think college is still worth it, because if you do not attend college you would most likely have less opportunity to be successful and if you attend college, you are most likely and have much higher guarantee you would success in life.
There are also some reasons why going to college may not be a good plan after high school. Some students might not have prepared well enough to go to college while they were in high school (www.blog.prepscholar.com). They may have scored low on the ACT which will lead to college costing too much. Some people wait too long to try to get financial aid and then have to come out of pocket to pay for it. If you do have to borrow money for college, the debt lasts a very long time.
1 Many kids graduate school wondering what college they want to go to and if they want to spend so much money on it. Though some people think that college isn’t worth it I’d like to respectfully disagree. I think that college is worth it. The evidence I have behind my reasoning is that people with a diploma that are not going to college won’t be able to experience amazing social gatherings than people with a degree, and people with a diploma make less money than people with a degree. 2 First, people with a diploma that are not going to college won’t be able to experience amazing social gatherings than people with a college degree.
What is College Worth? The worth behind a college education continues to shift as times change. This day in age, the educational system in the US is failing because for some reason, earning a bachelor’s degree in a STEM subject does not guarantee a job and that is not acceptable. If someone puts in the time, effort, money and is successful enough to get through four to six years in college, they deserve a job in their field. Of course this is never going to become a reality with the current system in place, however if the government stopped providing so much aid, there would be a significantly smaller amount of students earning degrees and the jobs requiring those degrees would be more widely available.
The only way a state college should be free to attend is through a scholarship. College is more of a privilege, therefore it should not be free nor easy to attend. College can tell the difference between slackers and hard workers. The common belief on the subject is that state colleges should not be free to attend. For as long as when colleges were first created and popular they have not been free to attend.
