A school day that starts at eight thirty A.M. allows students to get enough sleep. When they sleep well, students can boost their school behavior, attendance, and grades. Students can also work better with work outside of school because of less sleep-deprivation. If these reasons don’t convince anyone against later school days that these changes are beneficial, then they should look deeper into the situation. An early school day can lead to many problems.
“Good morning everyone, now it is time to start writing your essay about the topic that you chose yesterday.” I finished the paper. When I got it back, there was an F on it. If only I had more sleep I could really show how good my writing is. This shows that school times should start later.
Well this argument overlooks that if schools started later than kids would actually be better at their after school activities if they did do them. Even if students had to go to after school activities later than normal it is better for them. Students that go to after school activities build self-esteem, sets goals, uses teamwork and gets better grades.
Sleep affects how we look, feel and perform on a daily basis, and can have a major impact on our overall quality of life. Research has shown that starting school later has a better effect on kids and allows them to pay more attention in school because they’re awake. High schools should start later in the day to allow students to get more sleep and have more time to get awake to be focused in school. Starting Schools Later Most student would agree that more sleep is better. Some students say that they feel way more energetic and can concentrate more if they got enough sleep. If school starts later kids could get more sleep and if kids get more sleep they’re less likely to develop bad health issues. In fact, middle school should start later.

Bad sleep can lead to obesity and diabetes for teens and high schoolers who already skimp on sleep have a higher risk of diabetes in the future. This proves that kids aren’t getting enough sleep before school. I believe that a later middle school start time would have many beneficial effects on kids. As a result, kids would be more focused in class because they would be getting more sleep, that would lead to better grades, and finally reduced absenteeism.
Imagine walking into a first period classroom full of high schoolers. What would you expect? Here is what you should expect, kids who are ready to learn, kids who are enthusiastic. Even though that's what you should expect it's also what you should aswell, because when kids are tired they can’t learn and they don’t want to learn they want to sleep. School is about learning not getting up at 5 A.M. to make it on time.

Many of the schedules that are given in schools are the worst for teens because one one the things they require them to do is to wake up early to attend to the classes. Middle and High School start times should start later because it will benefit students academic growth, and improve health . Starting school times later will make teen have an academic growth. Starting school later could help teens academically because, they would be more attentive to any work or test that comes their way.
