Assisted Suicide
“If a man is terrified, it’s up to me to dispel that terror” said, Dr. Jack Kevorkian. Imagine a doctor giving someone a pill, because they wanted to die! This is not right under certain circumstances because, first doctors were trained to heal life not end life, God gave us life and that should not be taken away, and it is an abuse of drugs. Assisted suicide should only be considered if the patient has no ability to recover from their conditions.
The first reason assisted suicide needs to be reformed is, Doctors were trained to heal life not end life. In order to become a doctor you have to go in training or at college. When you go to college you have to become a professional, which is concerned with promoting, maintaining, or restoring health. To become a doctor you have to have your MBBS, MD, DO. Doctors go into training for a maximum of 15 years just to learn how to heal people. Most doctors say that they would rather not proscribe a drug to end someone's life. …show more content…

Drugs were originally made to heal people. When get mixed together in the wrong proportions it creates a drug that kills people, which is not what was its original purpose. Pentobarbital liquid and Secobarbital is the most common drugs used for assisted suicide. These range from prices of 200$-20,000$. More people have chosen to take this way because it seems to be less tragic. 460 people have died in Oregon alone since 1997. As A Result, assisted suicide should be reformed. assisted suicide should be reformed to people only with a disability that can not be recovered from. This should also only be allowed if the patient is at an age where they are not in good enough physical condition to move and they choose to die. If a patient is near death and they agree just to die and take drugs then it should be allowed. It should not be allowed to just anyone though that is maybe just in a depressed
