Argumentative Essay: The Spanish American War

Mexican Americans have immigrated and emigrated to Americas since before the Mexican American war of 1848. Immigration of Chicanos has been happening for a very long time, but the only difference is that it is now becoming a problem. Before the border was created Mexicans would legally cross to America, with no immigration problems, until 1924. When the border was created, Mexicans and Chicanos no longer has access to their old Chicano lives. Children continue to illegally be brought to America in search of better opportunities.

The American dream at one point was what drew people to American; the right to life, liberty, and the happiness. The American dream is the hope to acquire currency, large homes, raise a middle-class family, and pursue what brings people joy in life. But in the year 2016, the American dream becomes hard to believe in. The American dream may still exist, but it is not equally accessible to all Americans. This is true because the American dream is not affordable for everyone, it is not available to everyone from different degrees of education, and race and ethnicity creates large social barriers.

The Mexican–American War, also known as the Mexican War, was an armed conflict between the United States of America and the United Mexican States from 1846 to 1848. The Mexican War between the United States and Mexico started from the annexation of Texas in 1845. The war resulted in the United States’ acquisition of more than 500,000 square miles of Mexican territory extending westward from the Rio Grande to the Pacific Ocean America’s dedication of War on Mexico. There were many pros and conflicts following this war, which will be the main focus of this paper.

Voces Inocentes shares the lifestory of a young boy named Chava who lived through the Salvadoran Civil War. Chava was only 11 year old and lived with his mom and his two siblings. His father left to the US for a better life and never returned to El Salvador. Every night, Chava and his family had to hide under their beds due to the warfare that was occurring outside of their home. They were forced to see dead bodies every morning, sometimes from people they cared about.

Recently a new trend has been spreading throughout grocery stores, Pizarro flavored pizarolls, these are specially made in spain and shipped to Peru where they are considered to be destroying Peruvian cuisine and blamed for the growth in spanish culinary influence in the region. But all jokes aside Francisco Pizarro has performed some of the most horrific acts in South American history, born in Trujillo Spain to a poor mother and little education growing up illiterate. Francisco Pizarro was responsible for the demise of the Incan Empire, he claimed their land for the Spanish. Pizarro was a man of many accomplishments, they may not be good or nice, however they are still accomplishments, such as settling the first spanish settlement in Peru in the year 1532. Without the actions of Francisco Pizarro Spanish influence on South America would not be as strong.

From its food to their national holidays, Mexican influence is prominent and traditions often practiced outside of the country as well. Four famous civilizations existed within this country—the Mayas, the Olmecs, and the Aztecs—before the Spanish Conquistadors conquered the land in the 1500s.

A stolen life banned This book is a book that deals with real life. A life in which no one would ever want to endure. This book is about how a 11 year old girl was kidnapped and her freedom was taken away. This paper will discuss why and how this book "A Stolen Life" is banned from libraries and schools and why schools and libraries choose not to have it? If we want to understand why this book is banned or challenged first we would have to know what that means.
