Introduction The article “Is C.T.E. a Defense for Murder,” published in The New York Times, Amy Dillard, an associate professor at Baltimore School of Law, and Lisa A. Tucker, an associate professor at Dexter University’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law, give their views about Aaron Hernandez being convicted of murder. Tom Sawyer swore an oath with Huck Finn not to tell anyone about the murder they witnessed. They each signed with blood and trusted each other. But when Tom is having his doubts, he is not sure if he should do the right thing or keep his promise with Huck. Tom should march up to the sheriff's office and declare what he saw on the night of the murder so the innocent man behind bars--eventually behind a gun--would be safe and free from the terrifying house of bars. Tom should report the facts about the murder because Potter could be sentenced to death, Injun Joe could run off free from suspicion, and Tom should follow his conscience or his gut feeling.

Relationships, lies, murder, conviction. These are all aspects that come into play when talking about the January 13th, 1999 murder of high school student Hae Min Lee. Adnan Syed, Hae’s 17-year-old ex-boyfriend was convicted of her murder in 2000.
