Climate Change
“According to Patrick Moore “There is no scientific proof that human emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) are the dominant cause of the minor warming of the Earth’s atmosphere over the past 100 years. If there were such a proof it would be written down for all to see. No actual proof, as it is understood in science, exists.” (ProCon.org. (2017, March 1). Climate Change Debate ProCon.org. Retrieved from http://climatechange.procon.org/.) Climate change is a serious thing and began in the 20th century where it started a change in the global air. This can cause problems in the near future, and can be produced by natural causes such as a cyclical change in the weather. Scientist’s say that the world isn’t heating up by human activity,

“66.4% of the studies had no stated position on anthropogenic global warming, and while 32.6% of the studies implied or stated that humans are contributing to climate change, only 65 papers (0.5%) explicitly stated "that humans are the primary cause of recent global warming.” (“Popular Technology, "1350+ Peer-Reviewed Papers Supporting Skeptic Arguments against ACC/AGW Alarmism,” populartechnology.net, Feb. 12, 2014.) 32.6% of humans are only contributing to the global air, but natural resources such as lightning strikes which cause wildfires can affect the global air, and etc. This means human activities are not really causing that much of an effect to global warming, but the world 's natural resources …show more content…
Thirdly, reasons why natural resources are causing global warming and why scientists believe it is human activity is because of the glaciers melting that are making sea levels rise. Not all scientists believe that because about a couple million years ago, there was the Pleistocene ice age, which is a reason from the melting glaciers. “When the earth began coming out of the Pleistocene Ice Age 18,000 years ago, sea levels were about 400 feet lower than they are today and have been steadily rising ever since. Patrick Moore,” (“Natural Resource Adaptation: Protecting Ecosystems and Economies,” epw.senate.gov, Feb. 25, 2014.) Natural resources may be the reasons of the sea levels rising and affecting why we must think everything is from human activity and the glaciers
“Global warming is too serious for the world any longer to ignore it’s dangers or split into opposing factions on it, Tony Blair.” The disregard by scientists of global warming does not remove the problems of disturbing the balance of habitats, negatively affecting the human body, and affecting the natural forces of nature, making us doubt the negation of global warming due to its horrific effects. My rebuttal coming from a site that negates my position that global warming is, in fact, real, and a serious problem. In an article coming from Conserve-energy.com, it states in years in the past artic ice has “increased by 50%” which negates the concept of a gradual warming in temperature around the earth. This article also so presented studies
Despite the abundance of evidence that exists to prove that climate change does exist, there are still scientists and scholars who are skeptical about the claim. A major argument against climate change existing is that climate has changed before so human beings cannot be the reason for climate change - 33% of Americans agree to this statement ("Americans’ Knowledge Of Climate Change"). This is true that the climate has changed before. Greenhouse gases were involved in most of the climate changes in Earth’s history. When the gases in the Earth’s atmosphere were reduced, the climate on Earth became colder.
GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES The impacts of climate change include:- The rapid rate at which glaciers melt. Results have shown that when President Taft established Glacier National Park in 1910, where an estimated of 150 glaciers resided. But today the number of glaciers have been reduced to less than 30 and most of those that remain have shrunk by two-thirds in area.
The Earth’s Temperatures are getting warmer, so that means that the water temperatures around the world are increasing to. The articles have found that “The 3% of scientists that do not believe in Climate Change” (California Heat Waves). The three topics that are going to be talked about is Global Warming, Hurricanes, and Sea Level Rise. Over many years Earth is getting warmer, this issue needs to be solved, and fast before time is too late.
Part 1. Two common arguments against human-caused climate change are “greenhouse gases aren’t causing climate change – it’s actually the sun, volcanoes, or some other source (Governor’s Office of Planning and Research, 2011),” and “there is no solid evidence of global warming (Herath, 5 Oct 2011).” The first argument, pertaining to greenhouse gases not causing climate change and the sun or other sources being the cause, is made by skeptics because of natural changes being a major source of Earth’s climate change. The second argument, “there is no solid evidence,” is made because, for example, when there are harsh winters that include blizzards, there is no evidence that points to an increase in temperature – rather, there is a decrease in temperature at that time. Many do not want to accept the fact that they may be contributing to the man-made cause of climate change.
One of the criticisms was the lack of evidence given to prove the continued worry of global warming over
B. Thesis: The causes of global warming and climate change are because of increased emissions of greenhouse gases, and the effects of this are rising temperatures and more severe natural disasters. II. Body A. Counter Claim: Most scientist and people believe that humans are the cause of global warming because of the emissions that they put into the air, but there is a small percentage of people who think that global warming is not caused by emissions at all. Climate change is a topic many people would not consider a main issue when speaking of major problems in the U.S., but in fact is of great importance. Rising sea level, increased temperatures over the last 40 or so years, an increase in extreme weather events, and an increase in water vapor in the atmosphere are all examples of the negative effects of climate change, and the fact that not many presidential candidates are focused on this major issue is a big problem. However, there are some who are willing and passionate enough to fight for this change. For example, Bernie Sanders, an independent candidate, has stressed the importance of this issue and what he will do to prevent climate change from affecting us dramatically in the future, and
A vast amount of literature on this subject that was reviewed, documents that the rate of global warming trends, are not a natural occurrence, but primarily the result of human activity. This consensus was made clear in a major climate report released in September 2013 by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). In that
Climate Change is one of the most unsettling problems mankind faces today. It leaves an impact on every single living thing, on every continent, no matter the privilege. Long term investment must be used to change the world. People must do more than just change out their light bulbs for eco-friendly ones, or drive fuel efficient cars. A choice as simple as changing our diets could reduce a human’s carbon footprint by fifty percent.
Over the course of the last fifty years, the median global temperature has risen at the highest rate in recorded history. Global warming transpires as carbon dioxide, gaseous pollutants, and greenhouse gases collect in earth’s atmosphere and absorb solar radiation that has bounced off of earth’s surface. Both human actions and natural disasters are causes of global warming and the deterioration of earth. The earth provides protection against the danger of radiation from the sun, but the human expansion of the greenhouse effects results in global warming.
Climate Change is something that we have caused because of our choices to burn fossil fuels, at some point we have to face the problems that we have created. The consequences of Climate Change are horrific and Climate Change could end our existence as a species, most people do take action against Climate Change except, The Government of the United States of America, refuses to accept the serious dangers of climate change and continues releasing propaganda on Climate Change, claiming its effects are minimal and that we are not causing it. Peculiar how almost every other government in the world thinks otherwise. The reasons we are heading in the wrong direction is because the actions of humans are causing Climate Change, and almost all scientists agree on this matter. Another reason is the that the government isn’t trustworthy in what they say about Climate Change, meaning what they say about Climate Change is wrong, and we should change our policy on Climate Change.
“Global warming”, it’s not something too new to us. You can see people discussing about this topic ANYWHERE. Especially in these years, when the global warming has became a significant problem for almost every country. Why then? When you hear about “Global warming”, it literally means the Earth is getting warmer.
Perhaps less obvious but no less ominous a threat to the environment are the general increase in temperatures worldwide and the resulting climate changes. This phenomenon, known as global warming, could have serious negative effects on humans and all other living things on Earth. Global warming is a complex problem, and governments have had great difficulty deciding how to address it. Some people think that it is the work of the world where nothing we do can ether change it or anything we do will prevent it. While others say that the
It is something that demands our immediate attention, and immediate action. It is something that we, the future generation, must change. There has been great speculation surrounding the realities of climate change, however the debate is now over. In recent historic reports, the UN’s panel on climate change have concluded without equivocation that climate change is occurring on all of our continents and in all of our seas, driving ocean acidification, the destruction of our ice sheets, desertification, hurricanes, and catastrophic heat waves. It is undoubtable that these events aren’t
