Today's gun control issue is getting out of control. Most of the American citizens own one or multiple guns. Men have more guns than women. Gun violence would also reduce with more gun control laws. There are many opinions on gun control. Opponents for me believing having more gun control laws believe that guns are needed for self-defense and is the way to protect themselves from town crimes to out of state crimes to out of the country crimes. However, I believe that gun control would make gun violence's come down a lot, gun control would also protect anyone from any stalkers or abusers, and it is a good way to stop people from committing about suicide. According to president Obama, he says, “We know that the states with the most gun laws tend to have the fewest gun deaths. So the notion that gun laws don’t work, or just will make it harder for law-abiding citizens, and criminals will still get their guns is not borne out by the evidence.” The National Journal investigation considered “to have seven different types of gun control: handgun permits, background checks, handgun registries, “stand your ground” laws, concealed carry permits, open carry permits and gun purchase waiting period.” Also, according to Iain Overton, director of investigations at the London-based charity Action on Armed Violence, “In a country like Japan, where it’s hard to own a gun, there are virtually no gun deaths. In the United States, where there are more than 300 million firearms, 8,855 people were shot and killed in 2012 (and guns account for about 70 per cent of all homicides).” This research shows me that if there was more gun control where only the people who got a positive result after checking the background and all the info they needed to be able to have guns, then we would have less gun
