This book is written by more than forty different authors, scientifical activists against and for the uses of GMOs, biotech nets, and agricultural activists,etc.
World hunger is a problem we face today and will continue to do so unless a solution is found. Genetically modified food could be the answer the world is looking for. In this report the topic of genetically modified foods and whether or not it is a solution or a disaster in the making shall be explored.
For years, the health and safety of genetically modified foods have been debated and researched by scientists, but the question still stands: should genetically modified foods be allowed for consumption? To elaborate, according to the Permaculture Research Institute, the principle allows the comparison of a GM line to any existing variety within the same species. “This means that a GM variety can have all the worst traits of many different varieties and still be deemed substantially equivalent.” Many argue not enough extensive safety testing has been performed to state that genetically-modified crops are "substantially equivalent" to their non-GMO predecessors. I feel it is very important that everyone’s voice is heard in this current debate, however it is also important that everyone is educated by factual information and not just John Smiths opinion.
