Before becoming a music star, Grande just like every other artist drew inspiration from other female vocalists. Ariana Grande has said she looked up to Imogen Heap, India Arie, Judy Garland, Brandy, but most importantly, Whitney Houston. She has said “Whitney holds such a special place in my heart. She inspired me to start singing as a little girl. I'd watch "Her riffs are so precise and I love her tone. She's my inspiration.” With the help of her team, they released her debut studio album, Yours Truly in 2013. This album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200. It did so well that Grande started on her first solo concert tour titled The Listening Sessions where she sang her favorite songs from her album, Yours Truly. She provided guest vocals on “Bang Bang” with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj, which is the lead single from Jessie J’s album. The song reached No. 3 in the US, Grande's third song in the Hot 100's top ten the same week ("Problem", "Break Free", and "Bang Bang”). Her song “One Last Time” also came in at number 13 on the Hot 100 chart. She was now the second female to have three top ten hits simultaneously, alongside of Adele.The third single from My Everything, “Love Me Harder”, debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number seven. At the Bambi Award she received an award for Best Newcomer. She won a 2014 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite TV Actress for her performances on Sam & Cat.
