Introduction Bangladesh is the soil of rich culture with the rich ethnic background, and this background lays on the geographic location of Bangladesh. This place is the home of fertile and well-watered plain land of the Ganges and the Brahmaputra and it gave Bangladesh an agrarian society. As Partha Mitter argues that "its [European art’s] introduction by the Raj was part of a comprehensive package that sought to reproduce the cultural values of the west".6 How was Indian art from the British perspective? One response is available by the Victorian painter, Valentine Prinsep mentioned that "Delhi painters never worked from nature, and were remarkable solely for their mechanical capacity and admirable patience".7 In the field of fine arts, the first step by the East India Company was that they tried to teach the artists of India the scientific drawing to improve their skills. They also recruited the artists from India who has the skills on perspective, chiaroscuro, and this kind of western knowledge about painting. They depicted the documents of natural history, ethnographic subjects, and The British life in India. On the other end, the artists also responded their moderate comment about the new English-educated class, the new economy and rapid westernization of Indian life. Especially, Kalighat painters from Calcutta are mentionable here for their response on westernization of Indian society (Figure 01). Britain found that India was very valuable with the resources that they could easily take and use to sell to the high population of India. Britain put the justice and military system into place for India which made an efficient profit for them and made them all in all knowledgeable.

The main argument is that Effective Altruism do not agree with using resources and time on artwork. The Mughal rule, which roughly extended from 1526 to 1707, was a period when the political and natural environments of much of the Indian subcontinent underwent drastic change. The Mughals had a deep fascination towards nature but also acknowledged their superiority, both as humans and as royals, over it as well as the tribal societies that lived amidst nature. Their constant involvement in warfare led them to look at the forest and animals such as elephants and horses as precious resources; consequently, the military demands of an empire the size of the Mughals’ took a toll on these resources. Extensively engaging with nature for political and social purposes, the Mughals played an important role in transforming the pluralistic landscapes that fell under their empire.
