Arthritis Persuasive Speech

I will begin the session with introudcing myself as a occupational therapy student from Saginaw Valley State Unviersity. I will inform the participants that I am here today to discuss proper management of their medications. I will also explain that participants will be taught how to read a prescription on a medicine bottle and properly fill out a pill organizer. The participants will make achievable goals that will start them on the right track to a healthier life as well.

That bump you see underneath my shirt is not my cell phone, but my insulin pump. The scars on my finger tips aren’t freckles, but scars from testing my blood sugar over and over each day. I am just your average teenager when it comes to school, family, and friends. But when it comes to my health, I am not so average. I face the not-so-average questions of, “Why do you have a wire hanging from your hip?”, “Do you need to go shoot up your drugs?”, and the best one yet- “You eat salad everyday. how did you get diabetes? You’re so skinny, I don’t understand!”

“Play for the name on the front of jersey, not the back.” A popular quote for sports players. What does it mean? Anyone who’s seen any sports game with a team uniform would know that the team name is located on the top of the front side of the jersey and the player’s last name goes on the top of the backside of the jersey. So, the quote means play for your team and not for yourself. This kind of philosophy is something that you can get only from sports, but I’m only interested in playing one sport. Or should I say, lucky for my dear parents, I only want to play one sport. How could you possibly pick just one, out of all the variety? It was a challenge, but I managed to pick softball.

With a little less than a month to go in this school year it’s very common this time of the year for students here at West Central to come down with the disease that has pledged students for years. The disease is called Senioritis and it 's spreading through the halls at West Central at a remarkable rate. Senioritis is defined by Wikipedia as “ a decreased motivation toward studies displayed by students who are nearing the end of their high school, college, and graduate school careers. It combines the word senior with the suffix -itis, which technically denotes inflammation, but in colloquial speech is assumed to mean a general illness.” Although many medical professionals don 't see this as a real condition or a real disease, many

Scientific research seems very factual and straight-forward. In reality, science deals with uncertainty, something that, when not used in the right way, creates weaknesses. The uncertainty of scientific research allows scientists to explore intellectually as well as creatively, and “venture into the unknown” to create the known. A couple fellow classmates in high school and college were always taking some kind of pills. Myself not knowing much about drugs, I thought they were prescribed. Later, I found out that they weren’t prescribed. My classmates were using them for themselves and also distributing to other students. I never spoke up about it, since I never witnessed the distribution but rumors go around. For example, one time in high school, I witness this kid put 5 white rectangular pills in his mouth, from my point of view I thought that was excessive. The next thing we know this kid is just acting totally different, but somehow he manages to keep a low profile and the teachers don’t notice. Prescription drug abuse is on the rise as we have seen on the news if you don’t live under a rock. Teens and adults have managed to get their hands on these prescriptions. People abuse prescription drugs because they think they will have a better time

It was Halloween night, my three friends Bryce, Zach, and Bailey and I were so excited, it was the 666th Halloween, we had all met up at Bryce’s Brother KY’s house in Donaldson, Arkansas. We had been invited to this Halloween party in down town Malvern on the train tracks by ACME Brick. So we called Bailey’s sister Megan because she lives beside KY’s house and KY and his Fiancé Megan wouldn’t take us to that part of Malvern because it is one of the worst neighborhoods in Malvern.

As a side note, clockwork orange is a vile, wicked movie, which you guys should not bother watching. It is a demonic, sicking piece of garbage. That is a warning. I do not suggest that you watch that disturbing, evil movie, at all. On a lighter note, the video that Bunnee just put up, not too long ago, was a waste of my time to watch, but she looks neat-looking in it in some ways, but the video is lame, for the most part, with the queerish-looking dude in it, which is not Dogman. As a whole, many have decided to ignore the many building blocks that build our children to become wonderful men and women. These “building blocks” are now tumbling down and missing pieces. The youth of America is silently suffering and we are not directing enough attention towards them.

We've all heard about the Health Care bill, but has anyone stopped to look at the price tag associated? According to the information stated in the health care bill, the Internal Revenue Service will be placed at the head of this Operation. They will be in charge of ensuring that every American citizen either has health insurance, or pays the fee for a lack of it. First, we'll start with the prices Congress has put down on paper and stated to the public. Every American citizen will be taxed under this bill; if not directly, then for their lifestyle. Those who are considered "rich" by the US government will be taxed a total of 6.15% of their gross annual salary. Thats 2.35% for medicare part A. That tax is already in existence but will be raised

But let's not con ourselves, they would still have needed to take care of the basics, which have not changed since diabetes was first regarded as a disease. If you too want to treat diabetes too, your starting points should be the just the same as ever -
