It is not really about visiting new places rather meeting new people, tasting their cuisines and gradually discovering the magic that lies in the nooks and corners of the world. Today l will relate the story of Arunachal Pradesh, the land filled with mysteries. How to reach? We boarded the flight from Dum Dum Airport to Guwahati and reached there in one and a half hours. If you plan things a bit early, you can get the tickets at a cheaper rate. What to see? Guwahati was our first stop. After reaching there at 12 noon we headed to Kamakhya temple. The Rocky pass has in store for you the famous Sela Lake. The lake was covered with thick sheets of snow even in April. On the second day we visited the Tawang Monastery and War Memorial. Tawang Monastery is the second largest one in the world. It can keep around 700 monks, though the present strength is not more than 300. You have to enter the monastery from the Northern side, along the ridge by the gate named Kakaling. You have to walk 100 metres upwards by taking the stairs to reach the main gate. One can spot multiple breathtaking structures here, namely Dukhang or assembly hall, Court and Par-Khang or library. The 'sha' or hut, acts as the residential quarter for the monks. The gates are open for tourists from 7A.m. 7 P.M. Situated right in front of the valley called Tawang- Chu, Tawang memorial is a 40ft long structure built to commemorate the victory of brave Indian souls who fought against the Chinese in Sino-Indian war of 1962.
