Sheila Tyler (2007) defined [1]; assertive behavior means standing up for yourself, but in ways which respect the rights of others. This distinguishes it from aggression (fight) which involves violating the rights of others, and from evasion (flight) which involves respecting the rights of others at the expense of your own. Other environmental factors combined with economic factors causing a disaster for the car manufacturing frim Mercedes in Egypt. Mercedes has elected to comply with the less emission new engines that are required per EU regulations to limit the pollution produced by gas driven engines that persuaded Mercedes to make new models using only 95octane petrol. And when they introduced the new car with the new engine in Egypt, the failed to keep their market share they held for decades, because the 95 octane gas is very expensive in Egypt and customers fled to BMW instead which still operate on 92 octane fuel which almost 3 times cheaper than 95. Hence Mercedes couldn’t take back the new engine and the market switched to BMW. One of the success keys in airline pilots’ training program is conventional mentoring. By discussing training issues with a few pilots, it became obvious how mentoring is a vital element in the training. The airline adopts the training in two phases for newly hired pilots and for transition training on different types of airplanes. The first phase consists of training on a flight simulator where a designated instructor is assigned to the training duties for the two pilots only at a time, he’s stays with them for a long training period before the get transferred to another instructor for the last phase of the simulator training. Thereafter the do some line trainings, where only one instructor is assigned for one pilot at a time till the trainee finishes the training. The benefits are clear that the instructor and yet the trainee are able to enjoy the conventional mentoring process. The instructor provides coaching, exposure and visibility, protection, challenging working assignments, counselling, role modelling and friendship.
