ASSIGNMENT ON AIR POLLUTION CONTROL TECHNOLOGY: MARBLE INDUSTRY SUBMITTED BY: SAAD FAROOQI CLASS NO. 01 8TH SEMESTER SUBMITTED TO: Dr. FIDA HUSSAIN ASSISTANT PROFESSOR Date: 22-04-2016 DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND CONSERVATION SCIENCES UNIVERSITY OF SWAT Atmosphere Atmosphere is the ocean of air we live in, which is a homogenous mixture of gases. Composition The atmosphere is the mixture of gases. So atmosphere is composed of different gases in Fig-1. Nitrogen (N2) is 78.084% Oxygen (O2) is 20.94% Carbon dioxide (CO2) is 0.033% Argon (Ar) is 0.93% and All other gases are 0.0027% Pollution Any undesirable change in the air, soil and water which have an adversely effects on the human and environment is known as pollution. Air Pollution Any undesirable particles either visible or invisible or gas found in the air, which is not the portion of the original and normal composition of the atmosphere is called air pollution. Air pollution in marble industry The marble industry can also release the dirty gases like NOX, SOX, COX and these dirty gas stream also contain particulate matters. To control these dirty gases some technologies are used to minimize such gases. Cyclones The dirty gases come out from the marble industry in the chimney. If these dirty gases enter into the cyclone equipment through the inlet. These dirty gases are travel into the helical path. These gases have contain particulate matter. And these particles have more inertia

Greenhouse gases are those that absorb and emit infrared radiation in the atmosphere. The most abundant greenhouse gases in Earth 's atmosphere are: Carbon dioxide, Methane, Nitrous oxide ,Ozone ,Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). Human activities also contribute to climate change by the amounts of greenhouse gases, aerosols (small particles). The largest known contribution comes from the burning of fossil fuels, which releases carbon dioxide gas in the atmosphere.
The objective of the hazard identification is to identify the presence of potential hazards that are posed during operation of the plant, then suggest corresponding control measures to reduce risk or mitigate impacts on work force. Main hazards that we take into consideration are chemical hazards, electrical hazards, vibration and noise related hazards. 6.2.1 Chemical hazards The chemical hazards are those posed by chemical components and products used in the process. The main hazards associated with the process are that of natural gas or carbon dioxide leakage, high temperature and pressure steam, and potassium carbonate.
The air-tight atmosphere in the dust vent caused a chained reaction, creating the
DeekshithKumar Thadishetti Professor mankerian LS 690 July 31 2015 Climate change is one of the global issue that requires multiperspective approach. One of the key cause of climate change is air pollution. Air pollution occurs as a result of release of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. There are two key sources of air pollution that should be targeted if the air pollution is to be reduced. The first source is the industrial stationay sources, which include electric power facilities.
For quarter one, I went on a virtual field trip to the Sterling Weather Center. I experienced reading about how the forecasters forecast weather and the vast amount of tools they use. I read about what all the tools did and why it was important to use all the different tools. I also discovered what was so important and special about all of the weather tools. There are 122 field offices that are used to collect data for the weather.
The new invention of the steam engine added to the pollution to the air due to the smoke released from the machines. With the release of chemicals from the machinery, the surrounding air that the citizens
If there’s a word that can describe winter in Beijing, that word is “Gray”. Because of the air pollution, it’s very rare to see blue sky, and, not only Beijing, but also many other provinces in china are suffering from the pollution. Behind the air issue, various causes could be found from three different levels: global, domestic, and individual. To solve the problem, interdisciplinary thoughts are useful. Air pollution, essentially, is an environmental problem.
Some of these fumes can cause brain damage if breathed for too long and the Industrial Revolution was one of the biggest causes of pollution. They were
Emma Areman Professor Walker Meteorology 10 December 2017 Overview / highlights of important topics and concepts in each chapter Chapter 1- Introduction to the Atmosphere Chapter One was an introduction to the atmosphere. There are four major spheres within the earth. There is the geosphere which is beneath the atmosphere and divided into three regions. The atmosphere is a gaseous envelope.
1. Introduction Air pollutin is a public health concern and it has been since the discovery of fire. Incidents and episodes of air pollution have been recorded throughout the history. Air pollution is divided into two, it is the indoor air pollution and the outdoor air pollution. Indoor air pollution is produced in households or at offices by pollutants such as tobacco smoke, household products or pesticides.

CHAPTER 1 1. INTRODUCTION The air we respire contains mixture of natural and man-made chemical, physical and biological elements that modifies ambient air quality. Among all air pollutants, the most threatening for human health include particulate matter and gaseous pollutants such as carbon monoxide, ozone, nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide (WHO). The movement of people into urban areas and the growth of industry within these areas has carried more people into contact with air pollution than any other time in recent memory.
• Pollution: Pollution of air, water and soil require millions of years to recoup. Industry and motor vehicles exhaust are the number one pollutants. Heavy Metals, nitrates and plastic are toxins for pollution. While water pollution is caused by oil spill, acid rain, urban runoff; air pollution is caused by various gases and toxins
Focusing on reducing air pollutants in the Earth’s atmosphere, it creates an environmentally healthy place to live in and encourage people to work together for a common cause, thus making the world a better place. In order to solve such a problem, a strong understanding is needed. Air pollution is one of the various forms of pollution. It is the presence of foreign toxic substances or pollutants into the air.
