A fan is an active member of the community that entrenches themselves in a community and are part of surreal moments. Sports fosters a great sense of community in any region because sports are a unifying factor. The community could extend from “players and fellow fans” to “regional pride, family relationships, color preferences, aesthetic tastes and even moral standards”(Simons). This unifying factor provides a culture and fan bases that allows for the fans to immerse themselves. The fans could be calm like Kawhi Leonard or as outgoing as Wayne Maybry’s Oakland alter ego, Violator, but either one does not take away that sport is way to “escape their normal daily life, as well as social inhibitions and express themselves freely by cheering for their team, as well as lash out at rivals” (Schaik).
Unfortunately, not many kids or adults know about the tremendous benefits of participating in athletics. They don’t know that it can help you become a better individual. Everybody should participate in some form of athletics for it allows you to make connections, get in shape, and learn life lessons. First of all, participating in team sports enables you to make tons of friends. Almost everyone of my friends today, I have met through some type of sport.
In most cases if a child is looking up to someone who lives his or her life unethically, in one way or the other, that child will draw something from that person. Also in Armstrong’s case, for him to come clean would cost the lives of the young ones who are very fond of him. But to fight and still lie as well does him no good, since even his the board of sports have identified his fault. Already his reputation is

Alexis is my name and sports are not my game. I am a non athletic, unsocial, unfriendly and distrustworthy person. Not many people like me and I do not know why, since some of the people, I hardly talk to! I want to become closer to these people so that all the people would not hate me and they would actually see who I am. I was tired of getting judged for rumors that people make up!
The game instils honesty, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, perseverance, courtesy and concentration. The game provides us a chance to take a REAL close look at ourselves, our performance and receive and accept feedback to better oneself in the game of life .. The game also builds us for social skills, a strong foundation for lifelong friendships. It imparts in us the ability to accept personal responsibility. Sometimes the outcome of playing the game may not be the way we want ,however regardless of the outcome there is no blaming our teammates for the games results.
You didn’t occasionally see girls playing football. However, the idea of being unable to play football due to my gender was anathema to me. In addition, I was filled with tremendous consternation and bewilderment because I wasn’t able to understand the reason why they didn’t want me on the team. I tried out for the varsity. When I was at the tryouts, I remember that I looked around at the other boys; some of their faces had
Coach Yoast is also continually challenging coach Boone’s authority by talking to the players after coach Boone does and he believes that the only way to improve someone’s ability is by toughening them up. At the beginning of Garry and Julius’s relationship they wouldn’t acknowledge each other they started as enemies. Julius kept to himself. He didn’t really like his white teammates and Garry starts off as being judgmental, racist, and arrogant. He doesn’t see his African American teammates as the people that they really are.
So like I said some people are thinking they are born and I’m not saying their wrong. I just want to help support them even though that is not my intention as this writer. So now that we are talking the born part why do you think this is? In article we read it says that we have this one gene that is called the performance gene and people who are born with this gene are able to play sports. This does not mean that just because you have this gene you are the best because if we don’t put that gene to work then it’s basically useless.
So much can be taken from studying these two athletes. Manziel knew he was a star and only wanted to be around other stars, with that attitude he lost respect from his fans, myself included. One 's character can take them along ways, with their work ethic and how they treat others. Mariota has not stopped his hard work and his numbers show it. Manziel has it set in his mind that he is the best and nobody can ever overcome him and with that he is become a bust.
Other similar qualities he has is being a good worker and follower. I always try to please my friends by making them laugh or agreeing with them. Lennie tries to please his friends by emulating their actions and being nice to everybody regardless of who or what they are. I try to be nice to everybody as well so we have that in common. Another quality we share is being a good worker.
Some students are just playing for fun and the experience, and coaches have to learn how to deal with that! Having their athletes workout at a young age every once in awhile isn’t that big of a deal, but everyday, that’s overdoing it! Young athletes generally have high spirits and big dreams, but having a coach who only criticizes them and never lifts them up can easily demoralize anyone 's dreams! Magic Johnson said this quote, “All young athletes need is a little hope, and someone who believes in them.” (Johnson) I agree with that 100%, because most coaches can’t see how their coaching tactics are tearing down their athletes instead of building them up because it’s never been brought to their attention. However, there was one situation where a coach was being overly aggressive towards the players on his team, and even after being told to stop he still didn’t change his
This is why this situation is so commonly debated as people believe it is highly unfair to the student athletes. While some on the other hand, believe it is completely fair, that the experience makes it all worth the struggles. But there is only so much these athletes can take, after all, they are
To do this they have to be confident in themselves and others. Sports take a lot of time and dedication, but with numerous amounts of practices, athletes are able to succeed as a team. On and off the court, they have to trust in themselves and in their other teammates. Through athletes, peers can have a better understanding of believing in themselves and others. This is one way athletes are forced to be role models.
