The past few months have been some of the most difficult times of my life. College auditions are enough to drive a person completely crazy. On February 3rd, I walked into an audition room the most nervous that I have ever felt in my whole life. I have worked since I was seven years old preparing for this day. The actual events of the audition are blurry and unclear in my memory. I spent weeks desperately awaiting the results of my audition. Finally, I found out that I had been accepted into my dream school for a degree music education. This was one of the happiest moments of my life. But it has been a long journey here.

I am a member of the orchestra, choir, chamber orchestra, pit band and Tri-M. These high school ensembles have really shaped who I am today. Regular orchestra and chamber orchestra I have been in since freshman year. They have exposed me to a variety of repertoire and orchestral techniques. I have been the concertmaster of the chamber orchestra since 11th grade and the concertmaster of the high school orchestra since 12th grade. In 10th grade, joined the pit band. I played the second violin part for How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. This show really exposed me to a lot of jazz-esque music, and challenged me rhymically. In 11th grade I was concertmaster for the Little Mermaid and in 12th grade I was also concertmaster for South Pacific. Playing in the pit is such a fun experience because I get to be a little part of putting on a big show. It is exhilarating to create a musical atmosphere for the show to be set to. Playing in the pit also allowed me to take on a leadership role of running string sectionals, and helping all the string players with fingers, bowings, etc. This opportunity has really helped me to grow as a musician and a future teacher. I have also been a member of the high school choir since junior year. I am so glad that I was pushed into joining this ensemble because it has benefited me as a musician. Learning to sight sing has allowed me to take my music theory skills and put them into more obvious use. Plus singing in choir is just so fun and so different from orchestra. In addition to all of this, I have participated in NYSSMA each year of middle school and high school and received outstanding ratings. This lead to participation in SCMEA my sophomore year, LISFA my junior year, and NYSCAME and LISFA my senior year on both violin and viola. But I believe my greatest accomplishment was receiving a perfect score on my violin
