It is a cool, crisp day in September, but the weather is always the same in Aukin 8.0. Aukin 8.0 is just one part of the big island of Aukin. Aukin is a hidden island off the coast of Iceland. This is no ordinary island because it has a border around it that makes it invisible. Aukin is split into eleven divisions, Aukin 1.0 through Aukin 10.0. In between Aukin 5.0 and Aukin 6.0 there is the Center Square. Each division has a very different climate. For example, Aukin 1.0 is a desert, Aukin 2.0 is a beach, Aukin 3.0 is an icy mountain, Aukin 4.0 is a rainforest, the Center Square has perfect, moderate weather all year round, and Aukin 8.0, where I live, is a forest. Although my division is a forest, many trees are being cut down for fires …show more content…
“Come into the dining nook and meet the other participants,” she says as if we had a choice to come to the Cleansing Sessions. We walk into the so-called “dining nook”. Twenty-Nine other participants turn their heads and stare at me. “Now that you are here we shall eat,” Mayor Victoria says. I guess I was the last person to arrive. The Mayor introduces me to each of the participants. Then we eat. I have never had better food in my life. It was so rich. Most of the food from Aukin 8.0 is berries and herbs. Now I was having meats and grains I’ve never tasted before. After we ate, the Mayor called us into the Cleansing Quarters three at a time to start the session. Everyone was called in by their division number. I was going to be in the eighth group. I talked to the other girl from my division. I’ve seen her before at the Study Center. Her name is Elizabeth and she has blue eyes and brown hair. She is kind, but shy. We don’t talk much at first, but then we start to talk about her parents’ jobs. They both have rare jobs; her dad is a scientist and her mom is an artist. Finally, after talking for what seemed like hours, Mayor Victoria calls us into the Cleansing Quarters. The Quarters are dimly lit and there are three shiny white chairs inside. There are also two tall, strong men in the
Andrew C. Revkin encourages his readers to watch the Diane Rehm show. The gorilla, who was shot at the Cincinnati Zoo, was the highlight of her segment. A zoo in the future will have been altered from a zoo existing today. There were many professionals that made an appearance on this show. An issue in the United States is there is a a wide divide with zoos that are getting different licensing in the United States
Waiting in line to get inside, a few strangers had given me some dirty looks and a man even mumbled something to me that I couldn’t make out. I was quite nervous and terrified as this was my second ethnography, but was the first time ever conducting an ethnography on my own. It was a new experience and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had also never really been in that area before, as it clearly was more of an impoverished area. It was also my first time ever entering a soup kitchen, so that experience as a whole was new to me.
Bang! The doors to the dining hall of the grossly overpriced restaurant burst open. The guests rapidly turn their heads towards the door in attempt to discover who is responsible for the disruption. To no surprise it is Creon, 45 minutes late, making an unnecessarily obnoxious scene. All of the other guests had already arrived at the dinner party.
Throughout each varying stage of life comes opportunity for experiences, yet also opportunity for reflection. Old age is coupled with a relatively quieter, simpler way of life than that of younger years and it is in that time that one is able to look back upon the memories of the past. In the poem “The Dumka,” by B.H. Fairchild, the old couple spends countless evenings sitting side by side as memories of their past flood over them.
She has long gorgeous curly hair, tall, and she 's thin. Has a bossy, but kind personality, rude sometimes, but also caring and loving. Eyes greener than a forest, and strawberry blonde hair. She 's 18 years old and has moved out, this person, is none other than my sister, named Sydnie. Sydnie has always helped me, whether it was helping me with chores or helping me with homework, she is always there.
Before I can say anything else she was gone with the wind. I would talk to her more, she seems nice but we never really get the opportunity to see each other. We have a decent amount of classes together but none of our friends overlap and the activities we participate in our polar opposite. I am mainly into the athletics most of my friends are athletes, whether it be field hockey to football.
The location I chose to research was Juneau, Alaska. Juneau is located in the north-central portion of the Alaska panhandle and is only accessible by air or sea. Juneau is 3,250 square miles and is 80% land and 20% water. The present climate of Juneau is a coastal rainforest climate, which is any location in the mid-latitudes that receives 50 inches of rainfall a year. The mean annual temperature of Juneau is 42 degrees Fahrenheit.
She has medium length brown hair just like mine. Blue eyes, me having brown. We both have a great sense of fashion. At the time, we would have known each other for twelve years. Sounds like best friends to me.
Be that as it may, as word spread all through the nourishment group, it turned out to be clear that kitchens were bound to be the center of the building. "I told a couple individuals that we were going to [build a few] kitchens, and I just began getting a group of telephone calls," he said. He brought potential inhabitants into the vacant shell of a building and clarified the idea. "Individuals were stating, 'Would I be able to keep in touch with you a check to save one at this moment?' I thought, 'Well poop.
I turned left as I entered the door into a room of the same white walls and grey carpet. I was directed towards the room I would be evaluated in. As I walked through the halls, the walls were littered with posters about the quality of WellSpan’s doctors, insurance, and many other frankly biased corporate ideals. After the maze of hallways, I entered a room on the left. The room was the only way to divert my attention from the impending mental spiral I expected to happen.
She is about 5 feet 5inches. She is 20 old but doesn't look like it. Next she mostly has a funny smile on her face.
I assumed there would be many administration overseeing us. I was thinking it would be like a regular backyard cookout, with the music and the dancing. Basically I thought I was going to be attending stereotypical black cookout. I was scared about going to the cookout, because I have been at Appalachian for only two weeks, so I don’t really
They were hovered over their plates as if the food would disappear. They were also eating really fast. I know for many this would probably be their only meal for the day, and some have not eaten anything in days. As I continued to look around the room, I started to look at the attire that they were wearing. I could see that they all looked as if they have not had a bath in days.
I finished my lovely plate of food and then made my way to the dance floor. People had begun to "break it down", or try to anyways, during the course of me eating. I looked around, not sure what to do. “Hey Elizabeth! Wanna dance?”
