Authoritarian parenting style is letting the child know that you are in charge and it is my way or the highway. The parents have all the control and does not let the child make decision and does not set them up to be able to make their own choices in their latter years. Authoritative parenting also referred to as positive parenting (232) is letting the child explore their individual wants and needs while the parent is encouraging this behavior.
