In authoritative parenting, parents put a lot of effort into ensuring that they have a positive relationship with their child. They give explanations to the reasons behind the rules they set and enforces them and also give consequences, but takes their child 's feelings into consideration. Authoritative parents make rules but they allow for realistic exemptions to the rules. Authoritative parents often use reasonable consequences that teach life lessons. They also use positive discipline to prevent behavior problems and to reinforce good behavior. In most cases they may create reward systems as well as praise good behavior. They do not give out consequences very often. The relationship they have with their children is more of friendship. They are soft on their children. They are quite forgiving and personify the saying "kids will be kids." When there is the need to use consequences, they often give in if a child begs or promises to be good. Children who grow up with permissive parents may exhibit more behavioral and possibly will not respect authority and rules.

2. What are some of the major differences in parenting styles among families of different social classes?
Children of working class parents who are at least high school graduates, follows the accomplishment of natural growth parenting model, in this case they believe that children are allowed to develop naturally without placing any demand on them. Children of such parents tend to spend more time watching television and playing video games for the most part of their day as compared to children of parents who have higher education. There are instances that certain parents of working class inculcate authoritative style of parenting but most of their communication is geared towards authoritarian style. Children, who belong to parents with low-income and living in poverty as well as those who are homeless, are less likely to encourage their children to acquire higher education or achievements. These parents who are burdened with the stress of making ends meet for their families tend to suffer emotionally. This affects their relationship with their children which results in poor or lower psychological well-being. Also, these children tend to suffer from neglect and health complications due to improper sanitary living conditions. Also, negative gang influence may end up leading to the untimely death of children or becoming recalcitrant to both laws and authorities in the society.
3. What are some of the major differences in parenting styles among racial/ethnic groups?
African American mothers in most cases are more likely to spank their children as compared to an European American mother. Among the black American, physical punishment is more acceptable and both parents most likely agree as an acceptable way to include in their parenting.
Native American parents are more of permissive style of parenting. The native Americans have been noted to raise their children successfully using nonverbal teaching which includes light discipline, persuasion, ridicule, or shaming etc. they also are warm towards their children and respect their to sometime make their own decisions and follow
