For instance, distinguishing autistic symptoms is whether or not a true motivation (Le Couteur at al, 2008). When determining the relationship between symptom domains and distinct patterns, the researchers may separate the autistic domain rather than separate the global symptom severity (Le Couteur at al, 2008). The researchers study is based on debating between domain specific symptom and global symptom severity by separating the examination of demographic and clinical (Le Couteur at al, 2008). Also, age sex, and other demographic features would be considered when it comes measuring a developmental child’s level of autism (Le Couteur at al, 2008). Also, the researchers extended their study by examining an autistic child’s and their siblings through a full and through evaluation (Le Couteur at al, 2008).

The mind of someone autistic is very up front. From what I learned from the book, they do not understand emotion as well as we do. For example, the boy with autism would carry a piece of paper with him that had pictures with different facial expressions depicting emotions on it. When he was confused on how someone felt about something, he would look at his piece of paper and match the face with the person, showing him how to react. Also, they all have special quirks about them, as shown in the book.
The word Autism, is a big topic of discussion. It is a developing story, that many are learning by time and people are now using new ways to diagnose it. With new criteria for diagnosis coming out, and with the most recent being the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), psychiatrists and psychologists are now using this manual to evaluate individuals. With much controversy occurring, because of the arrival of the new DSM-5, many are inputting their opinion, on how this may affect the way people may receive help and services they were once either, excluded or included from. These people being excluded or included from the services are mainly described demographically more male than female, and within
Most likely individuals with autism inherit from their parents, or acquire through new mutations, several genes that put them at risk. In some cases too, segments of DNA that affect neural communication appear to have been copied too many times, or more often, too few times during cell division. These copy number variations can be present in the parent and then inherited by the child. (Autism Genome Project Consortium, 2007; Waterhouse, 2013)
