As a co-leader for the Greater Bethesda AMSA chapter, I work to support the professional goals of the NIH post-baccalaureate fellows through hosting panel discussions, group meetings regarding the professional school application process, and organizing mock interviews. In addition, I organize community and volunteer opportunities such as Kids Enjoy Exercise Now. It is fulfilling to witness students gain valuable knowledge and support while navigating through the application process. Working as an officer for AMSA has taught me the value of being a co-leader, that is working with other leaders to achieve a common goal and how to plan events based on the needs of the student community.
To begin with, the role models of both Wes’ has positively and negatively impacted their future. In regards to the author Wes, his mother, Joy, played a huge role in Wes life because she pushed and motivated Wes to do well in school regardless of the environment he was living in and the financial issues his family was facing. As Joy explained, “ ‘Well, your grades obviously aren’t bad because you can’t pick this stuff up or because you are stupid, you are just not working hard enough’ ” (The Other Wes Moore 76). When Joy started to notice that Wes skipped school, she needed to take action to prevent Wes from making bad decisions for his future, such as becoming a drug dealer.

Some of the different coach's techniques were effective, yet others were ineffective. This paper will take a close look at the assorted styles of leadership found throughout the film. It will also shed some light on what styles worked and which could have been more effective.
Since the students are learning at different levels, I work with each one to achieve academic skills; in addition to recognizing issues, encouraging socialization and independence. Also, I have earned the title as a Registered Behavioral Technician through training, exams, and BCBA observations. Applied Behavior Analysis is very useful while managing behaviors that interfere with learning. I am invested in knowing the needs, weaknesses, strengths, and fears of all the students.
The person I chose that I would like to be described as is an ice hockey player known as P.K. Subban on the Montreal Canadiens. Subban is a great role model for young people and deserves the respect that I have for him. When he is on the ice, Subban is always working hard to get better at different zones of skill such as stick handling, shooting the puck, and body checking. When Subban is off the ice, he is always very fun and kind to his fans and even the opponent’s fans. Subban always tends to be very active in the hockey community for helping the youth improve when he is not working hard to improve himself.
I aspire to be a CD because of my passion for creating a community for students and RLSS members. My involvement in being a Returner has been a rewarding experience because I presented as a positive role model and a leader for students and my team. However, I want to take on more challenges in RLS to continue exercising my skills in establishing meaningful relationships, and I want to keep improving/embodying Carleton’s learning goals. I want to continue strengthening my skills in being a leader as it helped me create a positive team dynamic where I am open to hearing new ideas, taking on different perspectives to solve challenges, and being a positive motivator. These were the skills I could express during my time as a Returner when my team and I did not have a manager.

Children learn by imitation, a fact that makes it incumbent upon the adults in their lives to be positive role models. In today 's media-saturated environment, however, parental influence is often diminished by the fixation that children have on the glamorous lifestyles of celebrities and athletes. When parents allow them to be their children 's primary role models, the line between fantasy and reality becomes too blurred for imparting lessons about ethics, character, and responsibility. To start with, the media 's ongoing glamorization of celebrities behaving badly often seems to make them that much more appealing to impressionable children. No matter how many times a child is told by her parents that certain behaviors are inappropriate, disrespectful or dangerous, the double standard is still pervasive.
Responsibility has always been a key value I hold close to me. I believe in the importance of taking ownership of tasks I have been assigned with and to be committed to them. In all work (e.g. project work or CCAs) delegated to me, I will perform my duties to the best of my ability. Whether it is individual or team work, I constantly seek to improve and add value to my/our work. Everyone is unique in their own way and this includes their way of thinking.

I would like to reflect upon how I manage my work priorities and professional development. In doing so I would go on to explain how I serve as a positive role model in the workplace through personal work planning and organisation, how I ensure personal work goals, plans and activities reflect the organisation’s plans, and own responsibilities and accountabilities. Then I will explain how I measure and maintain personal performance in varying work conditions, work contexts and contingencies, take initiative to prioritize and facilitate competing demands to achieve personal, team and organizational goals and objectives, use technology efficiently and effectively to manage work priorities and commitments, maintain appropriate work/ life balance, and ensure stress is effectively managed and health is attended to. Subsequently, I will discussion on how I assess personal knowledge and skills against competency standards to determine development needs, priorities and plans, seek feedback from employees, clients and colleagues and use this feedback to identify and develop ways to improve competence, identify, evaluate, select and use development opportunities suitable to personal learning style/s to develop competence. Finally, I will look into how I undertake participation in networks to enhance personal knowledge, skills and work relationships, identify and develop new skills to achieve and maintain a competitive edge.
The quote "throw me to the wolves and I will return leading the pack" reminds me of my grandma Sylvia because she is so outgoing and if you were to take her to a party and leave her there and come back five minutes later she would already have like 20 friends. In contrast my grandma Sylvia was born in the state of Pennsylvania in February. When she was sixteen she married my grandfather who funnily was her old bus driver, though at the age of seventeen she had my dad and then two kids after him, my uncle than my aunt. My grandmother is still alive at the age of seventy and she and my grandfather have been married for over fifty years though sadly he passed away in 2015. In addition she has seven grand kids plus one on the way and in August
