If there is one thing that I have learned in life, it is that if you keep a positive attitude and constantly strive to put your best foot forward, you will overcome your immediate problems and find you are ready for greater challenges. As I travel up this road to accomplishing a baccalaureate in User Experience Design at Lesley University I want to take you back in time. From a tender age, I have always been fascinated with technology and my mind would fill up with thoughts on how I could help society for the greater good of mankind. Daydreaming about how I can make a change in the world and performing actions that have allowed me to help others has been happening since my younger days, even up till now. I was fixing computers at the age of …show more content…
In my head, I had it all planned. “I am going to school to become a doctor!”. But as I reflect on my past, I see that through high school, while I remained in the honors program and enjoyed these subjects; I overlooked many other great skills I possessed and enjoyed doing. Being that I was always very creative, I spent much of my time indulging in various types of arts during and after school hours. I was a leader in the Ambassador’s Club, team captain of the media club, and receiving A’s in Java web designing class. Moreover, applying that same knowledge for creating blog pages, Myspace customizing templates, and websites for friends, family, and even some small businesses. To this day, I still look back at the awards given to me from participating in these …show more content…
It just seemed to keep knocking on my door; and trust me, I am ready to open and embrace. I have always thought and worked in the manner of a user experienced designer and never realized until now that this was my true aspiration. When I 1st began college, I thought a career in medicine would be best. But as John Dewey has said “We do not learn from experience… we learn from reflecting on experience.” I enjoy mathematics and science. I also love the arts and being creative just as much as I love helping others come to resolutions. From the time that I was a peewee to a college student, I have always been on the honor roll and pride myself on being a mentor to others. Needless to mention the several awards from jobs and schools complimenting great work ethics, productions, results, and going above and beyond for the citizens of our society. I take great pride in whatever I set my mind to do; because whatever is worth doing, is worth doing right. Which is why Lesley University’s program a great fit for me. It fits my lifestyle and will also grant me the building blocks to achieve the goals that I have. Now that I have the knowledge and skills to help others create our future brings me great pleasure and determination to spread what I know and allow my designs to manifest into reality. User Experience is very important because it connects user's communication, both physically and psychologically
After reviewing my personality profile, I know that I have chosen the right profession and I will go forth with my goals. (National Center for O*NET Development,
I feel grateful for the guidance and friendship that my advisors at Park have given me. While there are many things I hope my next advisor learns about me, and there are two important things I would like my Dana Hall advisor to know about me. Over the years, I have grown passionates for many different hobbies. I have always had a passion for arts and craft and I started doing more in second grade After a long day at school, I began to attend crocheting lessons as something fun and relaxing.
My responsibilities included orchestrating activities to help the students build new friendships as well as to become a member of an inclusive school community. During my time in WEB I accrued an additional 28 hours of
The Art in Education In first grade we had to draw a picture of what we would be doing 20 years from then. We had to draw what job we would have, what our hair would look like, what we would be wearing, and I chose to draw a picture of me drawing a picture. As a first grader I knew that my future would mirror what I was doing in that exact moment; I would still have curly hair, and I would still be an artist. Loudly proclaiming that I was going to be an artist when I grew up was ok in elementary school, but at the end of middle school it was often challenged with “but what are you really going to be?”
Other than academics, I have many other interests. After school I spend hours on the court with the Varsity tennis team and inside a studio, I train to become the strongest ballerina I can be. To balance out of stress, I escape myself into designing, volunteering, and experimenting, in the field of environmental
By discovering such interests throughout my first two years at DSHA has influenced my career goals from an early start and ultimately led me to decide to pursue a career
I am acutely aware of the how lucky I am to be able to virtually choose any profession and eternally grateful to the amount of supportive teachers and adults I’ve met that pick up where my parents’ knowledge falters. They have filled my environment with a constant emphasis on education and vivid art. Most of the teachers I’ve met during my academic career have been avid supporters of challenging myself by encouraging me to take rigorous courses, rooting for me and offering any type of help they can so that I can succeed. Art has been the underlying motivator throughout my life, serving to stimulate my mind differently from academic rigor and as an outlet of self expression in musical and visual forms. The works of Francisco Goya ranging to the entirety of Dada period art, a music taste spanning over a multitude of genres, clothing inspiration from i-D Magazine and thrifted DIYs.
For my last year in high school, my friends and I created an “Earn and Learn” business through our school’s DECA club and will be competing at states in February. I am proud of what I have accomplished thus far in my life, and I plan to go even further in the future. My goals and
Before coming to Full Sail University, I had encountered many obstacles. One in particular placed so much doubt inside my mind and made me question if this was what I truly wanted to do, or who I wanted to become. Should I leave my family that is grieving over our loved one or do I follow my dreams that my grandmother wanted me to do? This was the hardest decision of my life, and I was torn in two each day that passed I know that both of you have doubts about this career choice, because you don’t see what it does and can do for me. What I’ve faced is similar to her, yet different as well this female artist started at the bottom and slowly worked her way to the top.
During my high school career I have made a consistent effort to stay involved in both my school and community. Through clubs such as Key Club, National Art Honor Society, and National Honor Society I’ve been able to help out locally and globally in an abundance of ways. In Key club and NHS I am able to volunteer in traditional ways, but National Arts Honors Society allows me to contribute to my community and school in a creative way that stimulates people 's minds through art. Due to these activities having a significant impact on my life my future career options are based around what I have learned from them.
During my job shadow with Ms. Eileen Chalupa on Doane’s Campus I learned how to be creative, come up with my own style of graphic designing, and most importantly to never give up or lose hope on a project that someone has asked for. Her job is the head graphic designer at Doane University. Some questions that I asked her during the job shadow were what are some positive aspects and negative aspects of working as a graphic designer, are the hours flexible for the job and another question I asked was what training did she do to get ready for this type of work and if it required any type of education to complete. One of the reasons she chose this career was because her mother went through the desktop publishing program at Southeast Community
Through my current role I have learned a lot about the art scene and public art works in the Valley. Although I know I have more to learn I am passionate about the arts and will learn quickly.
The reasons I am teaching myself how to become a Web Developer are because I find it very rewarding to see an Idea be completed through to the working product then even being able to tweak parts here and there, continuously improving the idea and come out with a working website, to know that I've created that pushes me into learning more and more to enhance my understanding of Web Development and how I can use it in the
Graphic designers are inherently necessary to design and create many things in everyday life such as: posters, billboards, logos for businesses and events, advertisements, product packaging, and many other things (Colomy). In 2016 almost 270,000 people in the United States worked in the field of graphic design. These designers use technology to create solutions to problems that a client may hire them to solve, possibly with an advertisement. “Graphic designers combine art and technology to develop graphics for product illustrations, logos and websites” (Graphic Designers). Simply put this concise statement is what a graphic designer’s career is all about.
Being good in science, mathematics and having a natural inclination towards programming since early school days has shaped my future ambitions. With a strong determination and a focused goal to become a software engineer, I pursued the Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Information
