I am an on call Anesthesia Technician Assistant. Health care is my passion and my focus that why I work for Kaiser Permanente, where patient-Centered care is delivered. Speaking from my perspective of a health care administrator intern, I am convinced that Health Care is a very complex system. Per say, experts’ collaboration for a new dynamic is an important factor for improvement.
Acting as a liaison between the nursing staff and other members of the administrative staff, they are often in high-level management roles. Though not in a direct patient contact role, they are often involved in the policy making within an organization affecting patient care (Ferguson-Pare, 2003). The nurse administrator meets the same competencies in the nine essential areas, but have additional competencies in organizational and system leadership, communication and relationship management, knowledge of health care environment, as well as business skills and principles (AONE,
I would like to study an HNC in Care & Administrative Practice because I feel that this course gives me the best route into the NHS, and where I aspire to take my career. I have looked at many courses, with the content, structure, and placement opportunities that come with this course, I am sure this is the one for me. I’ve had a strong interest in the healthcare since starting secondary school. As I became more involved in current affairs and politics, health has always been a big issue. As the Health & Social Care industries become one in Scotland, I believe that now is a very exciting time to get on board.
Introduction: Any organization recognizes the significance of leadership and its crucial role in achieving their goals and success. In healthcare organizations, the complexity of the system and the difference in defining its success goals are reshaping the practice of leadership and its standards. According to House et al. (2002, p.5) a leader is able to influence, motivate, and enable others to contribute to the success of the organization or task. Healthcare and business settings are different in terms of goals and system contexts.
I decided to change my career path to become a medical administrative assistant. I started to research several online colleges, and soon realized that Bryant & Stratton College was offering a course that would meet my educational needs to get my degree as a medical administrative assistant. My desire to become, a medical administrative assistant is to become, a part of a fast growing health care field, and to benefit from earning a great salary, and career advancement possibilities. First of all, my desire to become a medical administrative assistant is to become a part of a fast growing health care field.
Choosing a career in the medical field can very be overwhelming, there are a multitude of options. The job that is in demand the most is Registered Nurses. This degree, at the minimum, requires an associate’s degree. By the year 2020, all R.N.’s will need to have a BSN (Bachelors of Science in Nursing); Bachelor’s degree programs are 4-year programs. But don’t stop there, after 2-3 years of on the job experience, find what area you would like to specialize in, and go on and earn that Physician Assistant degree. Pediatrics is what I plan to specialize in. I have always been interested and fascinated with babies and toddlers. There will be many benefits to becoming a Physician Assistant that will outweigh the negatives of the additional academic workload.
After studying myself and discovering my several interests, skills and personal characteristics, I have narrowed down my career choice to being a Physician’s Assistant. I know for a fact that I am attending Central Michigan University and going to take part in their Physician’s Assistant certification program. I believe that this career is the best fit for me for many reasons, such as, I know how to deal with people when problems arise, I don’t get bothered by blood or needles and that is a much needed requirement going into the medical field, also throughout my life I have taken health very seriously, and I have dealt with several injuries myself, playing sports as actively as I do, this just means I know how to sympathize with the pain others feel. In this career, I would be working in either a hospital or a doctor’s office, the environment would be consistently busy if I worked in a hospital but slow if I worked in a doctor’s office. Personally, I would want to work
Career interests The career that interest me right now is the medical assistant position. A medical assistant can specialize in different kind of medical assistants. Some options consist of administrative, clinical and ophthalmic. According to my scores of the O*NET Interest Profiler the kind of medical assistant that would best suit my interest is the clinical medical assistant.
I have to be able to have a great amount of time management and stability. Going to college requires a lot of hard work and effort. I am constantly dividing my time between my studies and my job. Healthcare is a field that has a tremendous amount of responsibility placed upon the caregiver. Specifically, when caring for someone who has a disability, you have to be educated on the specific disability and the correct way to interact with the patient.
A healthcare administrator must use good judgment. They must be able to adjust their behavior to each situation, but must understand that conflicts will occur between different expectations in the code of ethics. Other expected behavior for a healthcare administrator is that one shouldn 't misrepresent one’s qualifications and shouldn’t misrepresent facts when communicating with other professionals during business activities. Overall, one’s behavior must set them apart from the others and their actions must show that they believe in a code of ethics and are a true representative of this profession (Bianca, 2017).
The registered nurse (RN) at the clinical site is responsible for identifying students’ health-related barriers to learning and developing a plan for service to reduce those barriers (BCPS, 2017). There are multiple levels of management above her level in the organization. My preceptor fits into the organizational chart at the lower end of the organizational chart. My RN preceptor has one individual under her scope of authority that she manages once per week. The type of structure BCPS has is formal (Schatz, 2017).
Medical Assisting Being a wife and mother of three; I decided that I would return to school to better myself and my family. Mostly to get out and be around people and to help in my community. When researching about medical assisting the article informed me about the future jobs and pay of medical assistants. Medical assistants complete administrative and clinical tasks in the offices of physicians, podiatrist, chiropractors and other health practitioners. Medical assistant duties vary within location, specialty and size of the practice.
I plan on treating and helping everyone I can. I hope to be the person all the women, men, and children look forward to coming to see. I want to be the nurse practitioner that makes a difference in other people’s lives on a daily basis. Being a nurse practitioner you learn many different things, and that’s what I look forward to the most. There is nothing more than obtaining all the knowledge you can.

They are able to connect, communicate and coordinate across multiple departments, professional opinions and voices, and the daily schedules of patients. Advocating and designing care with the patient and family is a true skills set and cultural attribute that adds tremendously to a culture of safety and patient – centeredness but requires the most able leadership to build these bridges across the many professionals engaged in care. Building this culture is a leadership challenge and there is no one in my experience better able to make these changes than nursing leaders ( Maureen Bisognano, 2009). Nurses should not just be at the bedside or within the nursing community but must be involved as leaders and decision – makers throughout the healthcare system. As Maureen Bisognano (2009) points out, the best nurses are accomplished envoys among different players and interests involved in direct patient care, which is a skill needed throughout organizations and businesses, not just in hospitals or
