Many reports have been issued based on the evidence regarding the devastating health affecs of smoking and the expose of second hand smoke. Unfortunatly, cigarette smoking has reportedly caused about 480,000 deaths anually in the United States with an account of 41,000 deaths due to second hand smoking. It is indicated that America has the greatest heath issues from smoking. Neverless, it has been declining due to the rise on taxes and the promotions to cut down tabacco use advetisement. Smoking can be very addictive but there are many ways to help stop that I’ll get to soon.
Many depressed teenagers find that their minds continually return to the same unpleasant thoughts. Experiencing stressful events serves as triggers of the above risk factors, which then leads to an increased probability of becoming depressed. When teenagers experience negative events that happened in their life, they will not easily forget instead they will always think of it because it leaves a mark. If a teenager cannot remove it from their mind, they will tend to use some illegal drugs for them to forget it and may be worst they will commit suicide. Loss in interest in activities that were once enjoyed is also one of the symptoms.
There are different reasons why people smoke but no matter the reason there is still the risk of health problems and negatively affecting the people around them. There is about 90% of adults that have started smoking when they were just kids. Most people smoke as a way to relive their PTSD which stands for post-traumatic stress disorder. While there are others that do it because they enjoy it, but there are many that have become addicted to it and can’t stop. The addiction to smoking has to do with something in the cigarettes called nicotine.

Suicide is not a joke in society today. There are tons of bullies and other conflicts that lead people into feelings of depression.

By 2030, unless urgent action is taken, tobacco’s yearly death toll will rise to more than eight million. Because teenagers develop intimate relationships they tend not to share anymore with their parents feelings of intimacy because they believe that only their friends can understand them since they belong in a similar age group (Psychology Today, 2011). According to Fuhrman (1990), peer pressure produces a wide variety of problems. The negative side of having peers is that they can influence beyond its limitations. They are engaged in unnecessary doings expected with their age levels. Negative peer pressure is the influence others have on their peers that encourages them to engage in detrimental behaviours.
It is already attached to teenagers in general, but this time I will discuss it more deeply.
