Introduction Ball joint is a crucial component in an automobile, to fully maximize its function, few ball joints need to work together. Ball joints are spherical bearings that connect the control arms to the steering knuckles. They are used on virtually every automobile made and work similarly to the ball-and-socket design of the human hip joint. Since it is a connector between the car suspension system and the tire plate of the car, its means it undergoes shear force a lot as it rotating all the time as the car is changing direction. It also

Next, heat treatment is carry out on the chromium steel. Soft annealing is first carried out to heat the material to 680-720oC, then it is cooled slowly in furnace. This will produce a maximum Brinell hardness of 241. After that the chromium steel is austenitized at 850oC inside the furnace for 30 minutes in order to ensure that the raw material is fully austenized, the temperature is uniform throughout the whole material. Then the material is harden from a temperature of 820-680°C followed by oil water quenching. En 18 alloy steel is produced. The En 18 alloy steel is then undergoes pointing. Pointing, sometimes called tagging or swaging, is a process that reduces a tube's, rod and profile end to permit it to pass through a draw die for a drawing operation. This process prepare the En 18 alloy steel for later drawing process. This process is merely a cold process with no heat …show more content…
The En 18 alloy steel can be temper to a temperature of 540-680°C, then the alloy steel is soak in the constant temperature for 30 minutes and finally let it cool in still air. The improved En 18 alloy stell will have the properties of increase in toughness and relieve internal stresses caused by quenching. This means the ductility and the toughness of En 18 alloy steel will increase but hardness and strength will reduce at the same time.
Other than the ball joint as mentioned, there are also other application of this tempered En 18 steel such as gears, railway wheels and tracks. As we can see, all these product has similarity. The similarity is all of these products working in high stress and shear force condition. There are always stress and shear force acting on them which cause them to need a higher toughness instead of higher hardness. If the material used to made them is very hard, this also means the material is very brittle. This kind of material will not be able to absorb part of the impact from the stress and shear force, instead, it become easily broken or fracture if always exposed under this stress and shear condition. Thus tempered En 18 alloy steel , with increased toughness (ductility) and lower the hardness (less brittle) is a perfect material that suit their
Roasting is one which was performed in this lab involving the heating of the ore to decompose unstable ions which are bonded to the metal. Smelting is the other process, which uses heat and a chemical reducing agent to decompose a metal oxide into a pure metal. Through this process, which is a redox reaction, the transfer of electrons between the two chemical components takes place. The element that loses an
We are doing a gummy bear lab. Gummy bears come in different sizes, shapes, and colors. Gummy bears are squishy, chewy, and sticky, they are made of sugar which are glucose and glucose are carbohydrate. We predict that during this stage of lab the solute and solvent will go through the stages of hypertonic, hypotonic and isotonic. We get 4 gummy bears and 4 cups filled half way with different types of liquid, such as Salt-Water, Coffee-Creamer, Vinegar, and Soda.
On Januray 26, 2023, Jelly Bones was found dead in room W1106, a lab in Huntley Highschool’s science wing. The victim was a caucasian female who appeared to be roughly in her mid to late teens with straight, shoulder length blonde hair. When investigator’s arrive on scene it seemed evident that a homicide had occured in the school. The body was discovered by chemistry and foirensic science teacher Mrs. Zuniga, lying unresponsive in the lab. The victim was wearing light blue jeans with a pale gray colored t-shirt.
The experiment overall was nicely conducted, and results were found through the information gathered. The dependent variable was established very quickly; furthermore, we can find the dependent variable was whether the athletes played a contact sport or a sport like baseball, where most concussions come from being hit by the ball. The independent variable is the number of concussions the test subjects obtained. Ultimately they could not control how many concussions each individual obtained but they controlled which individuals were chosen and what test were ran. The results that ran throughout the whole experiment was an overall success, the results show that multiple compared to single occurring concussions do not have an effect on P3 suppression.
In the end, it was concluded that Unknown 30A may have a low molecular weight and was an amine because it turned the red litmus paper blue, after being soluble in water. Therefore, the solubility of the unknown occurred due to weak intermolecular attractive forces of hydrogen bonds. Small amines form hydrogen bonds in water. As a result, the litmus paper turned red to blue because the amine accepted protons from their bond with water molecules, and was basic.
Flying Footballs! Which size football can fly through the air the farthest distance? If the size of the ball does affect the distance traveled, then the smallest ball should travel the greatest distance, according to the hypothesis. In conducting the experiment, the procedures followed were; 1.

Introduction The aim of this review paper is to access the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury of the knee (tibiofemoral) joint, which is a common sport and exercise injury related to the musculoskeletal system. Investigation of the anatomy and physiology of the knee joint, and the diagnosis, etiology, pathophysiology, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of ACL injuries will provide a descriptive epidemiology. This will aid readers in making informed management and treatment decisions, and guide them to safely perform movements to prevent injury. This review paper will incorporate holistic views on relevant scientific research, including primary resources such as journal articles and lecture notes, which will be cross-referenced
Physiology of Skeletal Muscles L. D.G. Valerio, C. M. Villegas, R. H. Vito, L. R. Zamora Department of Biological Sciences, College of Science, University of Santo Tomas, España, Manila, Philippines Keywords Skeletal Muscles, Twitch, Kymograph, Fatigue, Ringer’s solution Summary The experiment was conducted to be able to determine the effect of graded response, load, pules, frequency, tetanus and muscles fatigue on the contraction of the muscle, specifically the gastrocnemius, by doing the procedures and a series of experiments to get various data. Introduction First we ask the question, what is a kymograph?
Elijah Brycth B. Jarlos IX-Argon 1. Multicellularity is a condition of an organism to have multicellular cells. An example of a organism who has multicellular cells are plants, animals, and humans. The main reason of why scientists have a hard time finding a good set of existing organisms to compare. Is neither the first set of organisms which is being compared is dying as fast as the second specimen is being examined or they just can’t find the right species.
The four test specimens are all made from cold drawn steel. When steel is cold drawn, the crystal structure changes and creates stress. The stress in the grains can be reduced by the process of annealing. Quenching creates small stresses because carbon does not have time to escape. The annealing process is when
Tn 4351 was originally isolated from bacteroides fragilis [30] . The transposon was successfully introduced into Cytophaga succinicans, Flavobacterium meningosepticum, Flexibacter canadiansis, Flexibacter strain SFI and Sporocytophaga myxococcoides by conjugation [25]. Tn 4351carries two antibiotic resistance gene. One of the codes for resistance to erythromycin and clindamycin which is expressed in bactroides but not in E.Coli. The other gene codes for resistance in tetracycline and is expressed in aerobically grpwn E. coli, but not in anaerobically grpwn E. coli or in bacteroides.
The gummy bear's mass and volume will increase while the density of the gummy bear would decrease after it is put into water overnight. (#)This lab experimented to figure out wah changes would take to the gummy bear’s mass, volume, and density after sitting in a cup of water overnight. To do this the gummy bear's dimensions and weight was taken on the first day, along with its density and then the gummy bear was placed and water. When the gummy bear was taken out of the water on day two, the dimensions, weight, and density were taken again, and the difference between the two days was found. (#1)
It creates a little bit more friction with the surface of the lane than the plastic ball. It is still very controllable and also creates a little hook potential. The Reactive Resin is less durable than the plastic and the urethane but it offer a lot of hook potential, friction, and pin action. It is very sensitive to the lane conditions, and operator errors. It is usually a little more difficult to control.
Introduction: The objective for the lab was to determine properties of materials by using a tension test. The properties that were determined was Young’s Modulus, ultimate tensile strength, and yield strength. Three aluminum alloys were tested. The first was the AA 2024 , which is high strength used in aerospace applications.
