Banned books even include holy books, like The Bible or The Quran. Even children’s books have been banned; like Green Eggs and Ham by Doctor Suess. Some studies show that making a chapter, or even an entire book challenged is a much more effective way to get kids to read it, rather than making it homework. Even though people challenge books, we do have the right to read what we want. That right is the First Amendment. The First Amendment states that congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging to the freedom of speech or of the press. The First Amendment gives you the right to read or watch what you want to. It gives you the freedom to choose what you see and learn from the media; whether it is through books, films, news, or other. The First Amendment should be protected so that people can control what they want to see or learn. America is a free country, and we shouldn’t have others controlling what we can and cannot read. Nobody has the right to tell others what they can and cannot

The topic is if schools should ban books, well I kind of get why teachers and professors would want to get rid of books but think about the students you're taking away good books from them. Sure there might be things that might not be as suitable for the kids, but sometimes they're going to have to run into bad things in the books. I ran into a book and my mom didn't want me to read it, I didn't, so basically what i'm trying to say is their parents should handle what they read. The books should have labels that tell you the level it is and what the book is about on the back.

Certain books should be banned because they could be inappropriate for students. “Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy” (Orwell 53). This quote means every human is an enemy of animals which makes this quote important because if young students read this they might believe they are actually enemies of animals. This connects to banned books because young students might believe stories like this one and students will start believing things that are not actually true.
Classic well-known books such as Harry Potter, Slaughterhouse Five, along with many other books have been banned. Books should not be banned from any school or library. There are a lot of other better reasons though. Parents and other people ban books with the best interests in mind. They want to keep kids away from bad stuff. It is good to ban books because the ones that are banned have foul/bad language, are unsuitable for the age group it is designed for, and are very violent. There are a lot of other reasons too, but I did not want to talk about them.

Everyone Needs to Read Banned Books Banning challenged books from schools and libraries is wrong and is restricting students from seeing the real world. These challenged books can include many controversial subject matters, including sexual references, homosexuality, racial differences, alternative lifestyles and more. Though some of the reasons for banning books are understandable, they are not educating students on what they will see as they grow older and what they will encounter in reality.
