An alteration in the lesson plan, such as including or integrating arts during class would benefit the children as it would stimulate the different parts of their brains. After reading the articles, we learnt that as an educator, it is our duty to expose them to all of the different intelligences. This is because in Singapore’s context, many educators only address the verbal and logical aspects of learning while it is important to possess or at least, be able to be acquainted with the other types of intelligence. Thus, it is important to ensure that our children receive a holistic education in order for them to develop appropriately (Ministry of Education,
Infant and toddler education is a subset of early childhood education. Initial childhood education enables children to enter and thrive in the elementary school classroom, decreasing the risk of mental illness, and helping the development of independent adults (Benin, 2010). In other words, a child at this early level of education is taught to be open to interpretations and critical thinking. She/he is exposed to all subjects, beginning with the environment in which he/she lives and in time, encompasses ethics, science, and belief systems. At this early stage, this formative type of education is capable of the following: closing the cognitive gap between lower and higher-income children before formal schooling begins, increasing subsequent high school graduation rates, improving performance on regulated tests, and decreasing both repetition of classroom material and the amount of children arranged in learning support education (Schweinhart et al.,
Total quality management is successfully applied only as a result of careful study, deep understanding and clear determination of each and every principle and its application in required situation. Total quality management philosophy can be proved as a very powerful tool for improvement in educational setting despite the fact that it was formulated keeping in mind the manufacturing and business processes. Application of Deming’s principles will result in more efficient operation and teamwork attitude between faculty and students (Winn & Green, 1998). Principles formulated by W. Edwards Deming are suggested as basis for achievement of excellence in schools. This philosophy is based on assumption that people want to do their best and it is management’s job to let them do the best by improving the system in which they work at constant rate.
Teachers’ attitude was found to significantly influence intention to use technology in inclusive education classroom. This implies that there is a positive relationship between teachers’ attitude and their intention to use technology. From the direct influences attitude have on intention, it is clear that teachers who believed in the use of technology would find it beneficial to use them. It is reasonable to conclude that when teachers have positive attitudes toward inclusive education; these attitudes reinforce their intentions to use technology and consequently, lead to participation of children with special needs in the learning process. Once these children are fully engaged through the use of technology there is every reason to suggest
They are joyful when they learn something new. As I have said, it is never too late to achieve dreams. Isn’t good to share this vision to others? To never stop until they reach their aspiration in life and that nevertheless, we have equal opportunities to achieve and complete our goals in life. Nevertheless, the program of Department of Education push of the Alternative Learning System is a good program to combat illiteracy as well as creating possibilities of becoming professionals someday.
At the secondary school level, technical and commercial secondary schools offer courses like academic and specialized subjects to be taught which is lasting up to 6 years. In the 1st phase of secondary education, pupils who pass the Junior Secondary School Examination (JSSE) will be successfully go to the 2nd phase of education. This 2nd phase of teaching includes writing and final Senior Secondary School Examination (SSSE). These two phases are each last for 3 years of study. In order to obtain admission into private schools such as Government Colleges, Federal Colleges and University Secondary Schools, students must not only come from well-to-do families, their parents or guardians must also have high and powerful connections.
Literature review In simplistic terms, education has been defined as a process in which the acquisition of information, skills, philosophies, beliefs and human lifestyles is facilitated (Dewey, 1944). It takes place under the supervision of educators/teachers, but learners may also educate themselves. It can be either, or both, formal and informal. However, early childhood education is an important aspect of general education. It relates to the training of young children both at home and school, until the age of around 8 years (Dewey, 1916).
1. INTRODUCTION The goal of education is to build children as capable, useful, productive and responsible members of the society by providing adequate learning experiences and opportunities to children to gain knowledge, to acquire skill and competence; to refine the attitude and to nurture all sorts of creativity in the children. India has been making experiments in the field of education since it got freedom in 1947 to draw the best out of its classrooms. After a very long debate and discussion a sea change was targeted in the assessment in school education and Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) was introduced in 2010. It was urged and hoped that it would shift the focus of education from need of learning to love for learning; (NCERT, 2000) it would reduce anxiety and stress of the learners; it would assess the learners holistically and it would enhance the level of learning performance due to timely diagnosis and appropriate remedial intervention.
Therefore, when curriculum developers plan the curriculum content, they need to consider all these factors. In the traditional societies, education is processed through ceremonies, rituals, stories and observation. On the other hand, in the modern societies, children start the educational processes at home and parents are the best teachers for them. Yet, schools will take over the responsibility as they become older. Schools become the essential institution to provide systematic knowledge to children by instilling proper values and attitudes in a younger generation.
Now that we are free to learn new things even though our new system of education (Kto12Curriculum) is influenced by other country. We should be thankful because we have the chance to learn. By the way what is the K to 12 Program? The K to 12 Program covers Kindergarten and 12 years of basic education (six years of primary education, four years of Junior High School, and two years of Senior High School [SHS]) to provide sufficient time for mastery of concepts and skills, develop lifelong learners, and prepare graduates for tertiary education, middle-level skills development, employment, and entrepreneurship. The Government provides us education that will make us fully equipped and knowledgeable.
