In the 1700s The British finally won the French and Indian war at an extremely large expense. The British started to tax the new world for all that they had lost and blamed them for some of their expenses. The Boston Tea Party, Sugar Act, Tea Act, and Stamp Act all helped to inflame each side in this and help each side to grow hatred for eachother. It was called this because the first shot that was fired started the war and it also was a symbolic moment for both sides. The battle started and was a very bloody fight in which many men died.
