Not only is she one of the best women’s basketball players in the country playing at UCONN, but she is also one of the humblest people I have ever met. I believe that she is another person that helped me find my passions for the game. Playing with her for 3 years was one of the best experiences for me because I was challenged by her hard work ethic every day in practice and got to guard her every single day.
It also reveals that dreams can become reality if the effort is applied. Carrie Underwood is my favorite celebrity by far because she is an amazing person to look up to. I especially enjoyed witnessing all the hardworking girls ,just like myself, strive for their dream. Every little gymnasts’ dream, including mine, was to go to the Olympics, to compete at the college level and achieve overall greatness in the sport of gymnastics. However, as I got older and progressed through the sport, that dream that every little girl dreams about started to slowly slip away. Zig Ziglar once said, “When you catch a glimpse of your potential, that's when your passion is born.” When you find something that you're good at and that you love, you’re driven to do it for the rest of your life. For me, it's cheerleading. I’ve learned so many things, not only about myself, but about other people and what I want in life from cheerleading. It’s safe to say being a cheerleader has impacted every single area in my life, for the better. If you would've told my ten year- old self that today I would be a cheerleader and love every single minute of it, she would’ve laughed and then probably thrown herself off of a cliff.

I want to be a GHS cheer captain. I may not be one of the most talented girls on the squad, but I feel I am one of the most dedicated. I have cheered for going on 4 years now and I know all the ins and outs of cheerleading. I have had my fair share of good captains and not so good captains, therefore I know what I need to do to leave a positive impact on all of you, as a captain. I know it is a lot of responsibility but I think I have the skills and leadership to take those responsibilities on.
Cheerleading leads you to finding the best of your abilities and skills in yourself, which is very important in each sport, especially cheerleading.
