If I could have any career, I would want to be a Trauma Surgeon. I choose this career because I am fascinated by the human body and its functions. I had found this interest when I was a freshman in high school. My sports medicine teacher taught me the the good that the human body contains and what all it can accomplish. So I signed up to be in an athletic training program and help athletes injured.
Until I decided to go to Lenape, I had not had any plans for what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. When I learned I could graduate as a Certified Nurse Assistant, I was interested immediately. However, I knew I wanted to accomplish more than that. I love learning and I have a lot of empathy so I knew healthcare would be a perfect match for me. I chose nursing specifically because I love the idea of taking care of people, and nurses make a huge difference and have such an impact on the patients and their loved ones lives.

My main career choice is already chosen for my future. I’ve decided I want to be a nurse but, to be more specific I want to be a FNP, Family Nurse Practitioner. I’ve known for years that a nurse is what I want to be, but I could never decide which type of nurse I wanted to be. Going to the doctor one day my nurse came in and I watched everything she did and asked questions. I started doing that every time I went to the doctor.
I attended nursing school and earned an LPN license, but I was determined to get my BSN. I knew nursing school would not be cheap, so I looked for a job as a patient care tech in a hospital. I knew I wanted to work someday in a hospital. I found a job on a pediatric floor and fell in love with my new job. This floor also has a special hall just for cancer patients.
My aunt is a coder at the local hospital here. She really encourage me to go back to school again if it was not for her I would probably still be sitting at home trying to figure out what I wanted to do. Medical Billing and Coding has many opportunities for you to better yourself that 's one reason I chose this programs. Since majority of my work will be done on a computer I want to learn as much as I can to better myself. I plan to improve my
I am requesting this scholarship to help pursue my dream to become a registered nurse to be able to help and lead others. I want to be able to help people get well. Also to give premature babies a voice to be heard, and to be healthy to survive. I have always wanted to be a nurse ever since my twin and I were born at twenty-nine weeks in critical condition. We beat the odds and became two healthy baby girls.
When I contemplate why I want to pursue a career in the medical field, I picture my high school allied health class where my enthusiasm for the field first started and I became a Certified Nursing Assistant. I have been around hospitals and doctor’s growing up, but that class opened my eyes to a new world. To learn extensive amounts about the healthcare field and have the opportunity to gain clinical experience has no comparison, to be able to learn hands on at that age, and know that I wanted to care for patients. To see all those elderly residents, to experience helping them and showing them compassion, it made my day, every day I was there. The fact that I can do two things I love, learning new things and helping people get better excites
The career I picked was Physicians and Surgeons which is another name for Pediatricians. I picked this career because I like helping kids and babies. I like helping babies because I have a lot of nieces and nephews and they make me feel loved. No one and my family have this job so I will be the first to be a Pediatrician. I wanted to be a Pediatrician since I was 6 years old.
Ever since I was little i wanted to do something that would help other people. I wanted to be a nurse, doctor, pediatrician, and even a veterinarian. This last year I’ve begun to actually get serious about what I want to do, that way I could take classes in High School that will benefit my career choice. As I started researching my career of choice a Sports Physician caught my eye. A Sports Physician cares for people with sports injuries.
I will be pursing nursing next year at the University of Northern Colorado. I plan on minoring in Spanish and Biology before applying to the Nursing Program. I have been interested in the medical field from as early as I can remember. However, since the summer before my sophomore year of high school, I have wanted to be a pediatric oncology nurse. I had a major surgery that really changed my view on life.
This, I’m sure, is the way many young people become interested in physical therapy. It clicked for me because a physical therapist was the first career I could picture myself as, no other career choice I could so easily see myself doing. So, after I had this revelation I started to pursue higher education in the health sciences and tried to become more familiar with the rehab environment. At this point I started to reach out to physical therapists in my area and observe their workday. In my senior year of high school I observed physical therapy in outpatient rehab, geriatric outpatient rehab, and a hospital.
Ever since I was young I was adamant to be a pediatric nurse. More than half the women in my life were nurses, so naturally, I grew up always wanting to be one. It wasn’t until I met Maria Wydra that I even considered a career in psychology. I had always been fond of my psychology classes but I never thought much about making it a career for myself. When the class was instructed to interview someone that’s career was of interest to us I thought of Maria right away.
Although, I thoroughly enjoy working for Children’s Homecare especially the families I work for, I cannot advance my career without further education. In the last few years, I have found it difficult to work more hours, take care of my family and go to school. My husband works hard to provide for our family, nonetheless, in today’s world you need both parents working to financially make ends meet. I am scheduled to graduate May of 2018 from Stark State College with an associate’s degree in nursing. I plan to continue my education and work on my bachelor degree in nursing, while working as an RN.
