The findings present that there are no adolescents who ventured into beekeeping. Only the adult population of the community wanted to experience the risks of the business. Sex. Meanwhile, more than half (66.67%) of the respondents were male, only 33.33 % were female. The predominance of male beekeeper-entrepreneurs is associated with the observed traditional Filipino practice where males are categorized into more dominating roles in the society which includes the definition of a father who is the family’s breadwinner. However, in this modern time, women are not confined in accomplishing household chores nor just having feminine jobs. The presence of females among the respondents shows the growing trend that gender differences is not a

Prompt #1 From the passage in chapter eleven, there are a lot of examples of symbolism that contribute to Lily and Zach’s relationship. The quote “Sometimes I would feel like I was hooked on the chain with them.” is a good example that resembles how Lily felt with the fish attached to her (Kidd 230). When those boys tied the living fish to Lily, she was completely freaked out and scared. When Zach explains how he knows what it is like to be hooked on a chain, it symbolizes his feelings towards Lily that she was not alone.

Every day millions of honey bees fly back and forth from their hives. They pollinate a plethora of flowers and produce great amounts of honey. Having said this, a service I believe I could provide to the elderly and mentally-ill communities is being a champion of their health and well-being. My experiences in a clinical internship in Madrid earlier this year affirmed this goal when I encountered many elderly patients with passions/hobbies that they were not always given the chance to indulge in, whether due to restrictions in ability or simple neglect. Because of this, they were often depressed and disengaged from their lives. Consequently, the doctor I was shadowing would often encourage these patients to spend time in a senior center with other elderly people and engage in group activities. After checking back with them, it was enlightening to hear the ways in which their happiness was improved by having such a strong support system and being able to continue with their hobbies.
There are a lot more hobbyist beekeepers then commercial beekeepers (Zacharias). A commercial beekeeper is someone who actually makes a living keeping beehives and using the work of bees for financial compensation. He/she runs the company to make money and to run it as a business. There is no set limit on how many beehives a commercial beekeeper must have to make a living. Owning a commercial beekeeping business will require some specific pieces of equipment and machines.

Bees do not go far, so they pollinate local areas rather than an extended amount of land. Patricia E. Salkin says, “Small-scale beekeeping has proven to be especially popular among people looking to obtain more of their food from local resources.” Not only does it help the people and the wildlife in their surrounding area, it supports producers who raise and sell their crops there. Patricia E. Salkin states, “Urban bees provide important pollination services to community gardens, home vegetable gardens, and fruit trees.” Not only will it help neighbors’ goods and plants, but it will help others’ gardens and plants as well.

Save the Bees! When most people think of bees, they think of noisy and annoying insects. People focus on the most “dangerous” part of the bee, which is it’s stinger. Many of us have had unfortunate encounters with bees. Maybe it was during the summer and we were at a picnic eating a watermelon.
What is life’s most extraordinary pleasure? For many, money, power, and/or fame come to mind, and the idea of helping others does not register. It seems for every person eager to help, there are millions ready to hurt or disregard those in need. Nevertheless, the world is not beyond salvation; there are numerous individuals willing to give their time and labor to transform the world into a better place for all. These devoted people are volunteers, and they believe life’s most extraordinary pleasure is the joy of helping others.
Bees are major factor in our environment. But recent studies show that we are to blame for the decline in the Bee populations. The main reasons are industrial agriculture (pesticides), mites and climate change. And we should care about them because they provide us with honey and beeswax, and provide a major ecosystem service in the form of pollination. Bees pollinate a lot of crops like apple, citrus, strawberry, blueberry, tomato, melon, oilseed rape, carrot, etc.
