In the past two years I have participated in many after school activities and in the Dover districted. This year I have participated in many educational school activities like TSA, Science Olympiad, VEX Robotics, and Odyssey of the Mind. During TSA I have participated and won in events. In T-shirt design I won state champion (1st place) and in prepared speech I placed 2nd.
I have been an active member in multiple school extracurricular activities. Mu Alpha Theta is one of the clubs I part take in, and I have been a member for three years. In Mu Alpha Theta, I participate in inter-school test, practice math problems and attend math competition. Another club I participate in is National Honor Society. I have been a member in National Honor Society for eleventh and twelfth grade.
Though I had some competition, I put my all into composing a speech, and I won the presidency, and I have been president since. Through Honors Society, I have gotten to take on many leadership roles, including preparing and leading meetings, and developing our monthly schoolwide outreach to the school. They learn social skills, how to interact with each other and develops skills which make them innovative, after the students have these skill they could easy going and communicate with their future colleagues and their working partner. Indiana.edu(2013) noted that colleges offer career services, internship, job shadowing, job fairs, and volunteer opportunities in addition to a wide variety of courses that may provide a career direction.
Being an athlete takes raw talent, drive and time management in a busy life. Throughout my career as an athlete at Sutton Memorial high school I have participated in some of the most demanding sports including cross country indoor and outdoor track. Being on these teams for over six years I have had the honor of seeing legends rise and fall. Athletics are important but academics are still crucial to my future, and my secondary education. I have recently been accepted and admitted to Bryant university to enroll in their accounting/ CPA program to complete my interests in business and enable my future career as an accountant.
College Essay Topic C Throughout high school, I have been involved in many different organizations that have made a huge impact in my life. Out of all of them, I can say that two of those have not only impacted my life but have made me a better student and an all-around hardworking person. Both swimming and band has taught me that no matter what you do in life, as long as you believe and work hard, you will get through anything that life throws at you. Joining my high school’s marching band is probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Over the past six years, I have become very passionate about music to where I have made it my biggest goal to become a high school band director.
In April 2016, I participated in my high school´s interim program. I chose to participate in the service group, which would entail working on different projects in our school, in our community, and beyond. Throughout this week-long program, I was placed in different groups of other students from my school. Our overall goal that week was to serve others with gladness, and make a difference wherever and however we were able. The first day of the week, the entire service group worked on different projects throughout our high school.
Imagine a student walking onto the stage to in front of thousands of people get their diploma that they have worked so hard for. High School is a very important part of a student 's life, and freshman year is what gets it going, and that can be very scary for a lot of people. The grades the student gets affects their whole high school career. Some advice for freshman coming up would be to join a sport in high school, don 't skip any classes or days, and put in effort to everything they do. My advice for new freshman is they should join a sport in high school.
With having, to compete mentally, but also interact personally with my teammates and other teams everyday helped mold me into who I am today. This year as a leader in robotics and on the TSA chapter leadership team has given me qualities of project planning and group mentorship that I couldn’t have received somewhere else. During my senior year, I took a leadership role. Some of my duties in this role consisted of updating Rotary members of the status of Interact, conducting meetings, and thinking of ideas for volunteer work. I have also attended events such as RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Conference) and American Legion Boys’ State to further my leadership abilities. During my high school career I have taken my education seriously. I acquired a total of 28 college credits while in high school, with most of them being more challenging classes such as physics and calculus.
Therefore, I plan to continue my active involvement in extracurricular activities while I am a college student. As a junior in high school, I was inducted into the National Honor Society for doing exceptionally well in my academic endeavors and actively participating in volunteer events. My contributions through this organization have made a significant impact on both my personal development and my community’s support services. The numerous volunteer projects in which I have participated have prepared me to continue helping others in the future. Through projects such as building houses from the ground-up with Habitat for Humanity, I have developed teamwork skills, discovered my management potential, and increased my social network, all while working to provide services for less fortunate individuals in my community.
