Belen is a short term for Bethlehem. This is the night that baby Jesus was born in the barn. It shows mother Mary and joseph watching over him while the angel’s rejoice for the new born king. The three kings visit the holy family to offer their treasures and to bow down and to worship the lord our savoir. Belen in the Philippines you could always see the different kinds of Belen especially in the materials that they use the themes remain but the way they decorate the Belen compare to the past is too different, they really give effort and time just to have a Belen in their altar.
Belen is another traditional Filipino Christmas

Catholic forget to think about the effect of too much praising the sculpture of the Belen, they should not adore the sculpture because that is only a man made and has no spirit, catholic can still praise god and Belen by simply praying, go to church and live their lives in accordance to the wants of the lord.
People over praising the Virgin mary and joseph though their role is that they are the parents of Jesus, catholic should praise one god, because that’s what lord god said, you should not praise other god except me, in the ten commandments.
The holiness of Belen is gone because it looks like people are just making it for fun, and for decorations purposes only. They not think about the opinions of catholic, how does catholic will react to their actions and what other religion can say about

Catholic will praise even stones, tress, moon and etc.
We catholic believe in many saints and god that’s why we can heard a lot of criticism in other religion because they believe in one god, and no other than that. There is no problem about praising saints but we should only adore only one god and that is Lord Jesus Christ.
Some other religion they criticize our belief but then, they love to take a picture in Belen, in the malls and parks so they should respect our belief because we respect them without asking why should do that, why they be crying, laughing, rolling, dancing and etc. while praising their god? They should be fair about it.
Therefore for me, the importance of Belen should not be forgotten, because no mother what happens we should be the one to protect and understand why we celebrate Christmas in making Belen every Christmas time.

OUR LADY MARY OF ZION: AFRICAN DEPICTIONS OF THE CHRISTIAN MOTHER OF GOD Rachel Heiderscheidt 11 December 2015 ART 311 Riep The Catholic cult of the Virgin has spread its influence throughout the world over the centuries. In this paper, I will compare Marian imagery from three different African cultures: ancient Egypt, Ethiopia, and the Kongo people in the Democratic Republic of the Congo to a typical example of Western Marian iconography in order to explore the ways in which each culture has taken existing icon types and expanded upon them, bringing their own unique cultural identity to the table. In this way, we can see not only the unique stylistic elements of each culture, but the depth of devotion the figure of Mary, and mother
Changes have happened in many historic times. One of the times that caused major changes was in Colonial Williamsburg during the Revolutionary war era. At this time, there was a strong religion that colonists believed in. When there is a religion, there is normally a place to practice this religion, like a church. In the 1700s, that church would be the Bruton Parish Church.
As Samuel Adams once said during the Revolution, “Among the natural rights of the colonists are these: First a right to life, secondly a right to liberty, and thirdly to property; together with the right to defend themselves in the best manner they can.” During the Revolutionary War, people wanted freedom from the harsh and brutal taxes that Britain was charging them. As they got into the middle of this fight for freedom, they realized that the real cost for freedom was lives. People were dying left and right, as the medical service they required was nowhere to be seen. The Bruton Parish was the answer to that plea.
Colonial Williamsburg shows what life was like for everyone back in colonial times. We can learn a lot from their structures such as the Capitol, the Magazine, and the Governor`s Palace. One of the most important buildings was the Bruton Parish Church. This historical church definitely deserves a commemorative coin because everyone then had to attend service once a month, it still offers service to this day, and it relates to the motto, “That the future may learn from the past.”
It is their culture and religion and it should not
Unlike Luther, other Protestants did not favor art. They saw it as an avenue for idolatry and going back to the materialistic ways of the Catholic Church. So, they disposed of the imagery in their churches, by melting down the metal items and destroying the others. With this attitude towards religious art, Protestants did not see a need to create more religious architecture. Many artists saw their work destroyed, and, with the market for religious art fading away, these artists had lost their source of income (Sayre
In the year 1054, the Catholic Church had issues within the different parts of it. As these issues continued to pose a bigger problem, the church finally decided that it needed to separate and become different churches so that they could each conduct and run the church like they wanted to. The two branches of the Catholic Church that were feuding around this time were the Latin portion of the church, later known as Roman Catholics, and the Greek part, which were eventually known as the Orthodox Church. As we take a look back at these two branches of the Catholic Church, the differences and problems that they had with one another will be shown by evidence found in documents relating to the incidents and troubles that caused the church to have
and then they hold a street fair to celebrate Christmas and they get toys why the kids lie in bed waiting for Santa Claus? It is a custom to visit their family members and they will play games and have lot’s of and eat food and some of the food is roast chicken, rice, and gungo peas. The drink that they drink is red tea and this is how you make it herb, with steep hot, then cooled and mixed with ginger, and then you put sugar with white rum and that is how you make red tea. The things that my country does is that they throw a humongous per radius and they make it about Santa Claus and instead of Santa on his savage slay and going around giving kids presents and they do floats too. They also do this they do shows that represent Christmas and they play the song to
Irving Berlin’s White Christmas is a joyful, holiday, thrilling production created in order to help people not only get in the Christmas spirit, but to realize what makes Christmas special is who you spend it with. The musical opens up with an army scene on Christmas Eve. All of the soldiers are attempting to get in the holiday spirit, but especially Bob Wallace and Phil Davis. These guys are the life of the party. They performed for all of the other soldiers by singing different holiday songs as they wore their Santa hats, and bells around their neck.
These were also made of wood and overlaid gold. The Golden Crown was placed on the top of the Altar of Incense. The altar was placed just before the place of God’s habitation, “The Holy of Holies.” The fire was taken from the Brazen Altar. The Table of Shewbread, 1 ½ feet by 2 ½ feet high by three feet long, was where the unleavened showbread was placed.
Interesting thread, Irvin Yalom believed an awareness of onus’s death begins the stages of anxiety (Yalom, 1980). Irvin Yalom believed individuals had the right to choose and make their own life, which clashes with the wish for free choice and external structure, so Irvin Yalom states, "we demand meaning to our lives yet we are thrown into a universe that is cosmically indifferent to us" (Yalom, 1980). Either way, a professional counselor would agree that speaking about death provokes fear of dying and anxiety surrounds that so yes making helping an individual solve their anxiety is the best solution and sometimes confronting the facts is the best solution. A Christmas Carol movie is the best suggestion to help individuals sometimes in assisting
Events from the past can influence people to change their life for the better. Influence from anyone and anything can definitely affect you. Chances are, if you have done atrocious things, you probably want to try and do some good. This the case for the main characters in the stories “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens and “A Retrieved Reformation” by O’ Harey. Ebenezer Scrooge is a greedy, grumpy man who hates Christmas and really anything that involves joy.
This painting was framed around the Christian Religion, and has an emphasis on
Christmas Carol Literary Analysis Have you ever wondered if someone can change overnight? In this book Scrooge changed very rapidly with the ghost appearing and changing him completely . The sound of birds chirping garishly outside my window, wakens me from a deep slumber. Opening my eyes, I see the morning sun’s rays illuminating my room. I’m longing for sleep to engulf me back into its warm embrace. My father ruins any hope of going back to sleep as he hollers upstairs that breakfast is ready. Standing up and doing a morning stretch is when I first smell it.
