Benefits of Social Media What are social media? And why we need social media? Social media are computer-mediated tools that allow people or companies to create, share, or exchange information, career interests, ideas, and pictures/videos in virtual communities and networks. We need social media because is developed dramatically in the last decade to become a significant part of people’s daily life. Moreover, social media is the collective of online communications channels dedicated to community-based input, interaction, content-sharing and collaboration. Social media marketing programs usually center on efforts to create content that attracts attention and encourages readers to share it with their social networks. A corporate message spreads from user to user and presumably resonates because it appears to come from a trusted, third-party source, as opposed to the brand or company itself. Hence, this form of marketing is driven by word-of-mouth, meaning it results in earned media rather than paid media. Social media has become a platform that is easily accessible to anyone with internet access. Increased communication for organizations fosters brand awareness and often, improved customer service. Additionally, social media serves as a relatively inexpensive platform for organizations to implement marketing campaigns. Markets, especially for products aimed at young people, social media are extremely important (Langley, 2009). Social media networks are fantastic resources for businesses of all sizes looking to promote their brands online. The platforms themselves are free to use, and they also have paid advertising options specifically for brands that want to reach even more new audiences. So, social media gives more options to make business. Because, Social media can give you the opportunity to improve your brand identity, reach new customers, and communicate with potential customers. Typically, social entertainment is defined by the individual sites dedicated to a particular type of entertainment experience incorporating basic social networking services. The public makes the most of the social media for forms of entertainment (Xia, 2015). More and more people use the internet as their source of entertainment, instead of watching TV programs and movies.
