When I was 10 years old I fell into hole of isolation, I didn’t want to hang out with friends, I didn’t want to try hard in school, and I generally was just going through life one step at a time. However, during that period, I found an important part of my character that I still have today, and that is, gaming. Gaming has been, is, and will continue to be a very rewarding hobby to many, due to its physical and mental benefits.

Many people believe that gaming is detrimental to one’s mental and physical health, and one’s ability to be social, but is that really the case? In my personal experience, gaming has been a very beneficial and rewarding hobby. I have gained and built upon skills such as, quick decision making, teamwork, communication, and reaction time to name a few physical and mental benefits. Also, contrary to popular belief, gaming does not create isolation, instead, it creates a common interest between one person and 2.2 billion people around the world. I can speak from experience that gaming has connected me with people more than it has disconnected me from them.
