In many organizations, conflict occurs frequently and it is known as the struggle between two or more individuals whose goals are incompatible. Intercultural conflict refers to the unequivocal or implied emotional struggle between two people from different cultural backgrounds, due to over perceived incompatible norms and values. It happens where an issue is viewed by two cultures in different ways. Both individuals try to solve a problem in diverse ways, but none accepts the attempt made by another person. Furthermore, culture represents a shared system of sense, and intercultural conflict contradicts the different shared system that makes sense. People must be ready to learn new traditions and customs. Secondly, relating with people from different backgrounds can be difficult due to the fear of the unknown, bias and stereotypical thoughts that guide social interactions and contributes to the misperceptions about certain cultural groups. There is also the panic and discomfort that exists when a person interacts with a different cultural group.
The benefits of intercultural relationships
Intercultural relationships enable individuals to gain more knowledge about other cultures around the world. Through interacting with people from different cultures, learning occurs. Different people are able to understand the opposite cultures and as a result, the common stereotypical thoughts are broken. At the same time, people are able to acquire new skills and expertise through intercultural relationships.

In the case of individualism versus collectivism, individualistic people opt for direct communication whereas collectivists prefer indirect channels of exchanging thoughts and ideas. Individualistic persons are concise and unequivocal in their style of communication and may end up losing face if they say something that is incorrect. Nonetheless, these persons can assert their control over any form of intercultural relations in an organization. Collectivists feel associated with others in any setup. They maintain connections and adjust themselves to conform to the expectations of others. These persons are flexible and can adjust accordingly to fit in any group or team in an organization because they can assess and adopt a communication style that best suits any scenario.
In the context of quality versus efficiency, the former focuses on elegance, proper design. If something is given the much-needed attention to quality, it will definitely sell. On the other hand, efficiency is more concerned with getting the job done quickly at a low cost. In this context, there are those who subscribe to quality or quality, based on their background and the type of relationship they associate
