The purpose of this research is to identify, understand, and to address the opportunities that Nanotechnology offers. This study will provide valuable information regarding the potential of Nanotechnology in the future and to the fields and subjects of specialty that would be most beneficial. Nanotechnology is defined simply as the description of activities at the level of atoms and molecules that are used in the real world. It describes all with the dimensions in the range of 1-100 nanometer (nm). One nanometer is a billionth of a meter which is so small that a human hair is approximately 80,000-100,000 nanometers wide for comparison. This extremely small scale of technology is not new but has opened up different and unfamiliar questions …show more content…

Its full implementation will have a broad economic and social impact. The National Science Foundation (NSF) states that products utilizing nanotechnology will contribute approximately $1 trillion to the global economy by the year 2015 (Davis, 2003). 2014 is the year the Internet of Things finally takes form. Wearable’s and smart devices ranging from toothbrushes to biometric baby sensors are already tracking data points in real time and starting to change the way we experience the world. This is only scratching the surface of the volume of machine and sensor data headed our way, and the subsequent demands on infrastructure outpace its current capabilities. The fact is only .5 percent of data collected today is being analyzed. . That percentage is on track to grow a lot and future technology breakthroughs offered by nanotechnology will assist greatly in the advancements of the various applications in industry as well as scientific undertakings and ventures. The potential of nanotechnology to increase the efficiency of energy consumption, help clean our environment, and to resolve major health challenges. The ability to increase production at reduced costs due to the fact that products of nanotechnology are smaller, cheaper, lighter yet more functional and require less energy and fewer raw materials is an optimistic view of the end result …show more content…

And the next era of mobile networks. In addition the business job market will benefit in the area of construction as there will be new tools and techniques to bring 3D to everyone so one could create and realize new concepts more quickly, cheaper and easier than ever – from computer chips to online 3D printing. Digital fabrication will be revolutionized and we have learned that a digital functionality can be printed into a physical object such as a hand! It really is a tough and demanding concept to grasp and most certainly to visualize due to the sheer diminutive size. A significant result of nanotechnology in the business world would be in nanomaterials and their strength for construction. Along with the ability to create gears and electronic circuitry has a future. There are different opinions on nanotechnology as the differences start with the definition of nanotechnology. Nanotechnology is an activity that involves manipulating materials on the nanoscale – for clarification a centimeter is one-hundredth of a meter, a millimeter is one-thousandths of a meter and a micrometer is one-millionth of a meter but all of these are still huge compared to the nanoscale. A nanometer is one-billionth of a meter – smaller than the wavelength of visible light and a hundredth-thousandth the width of a human hair. Almost inconceivable to the average individual
