One of the most famous inventions of the dutch are Windmills. A windmill is a structure or machine that converts wind into usable energy through the rotation of a wheel. Windmills are used for different reasons. Some windmills are used for pumping out water out of “polders” also known as wetlands and then putting this water back into rivers beyond the dikes. These lands can now be used as farmland and can grow crops. Another way a windmill can be used is to grind grain. In the netherlands now we have about 1000 windmills. This helps for the goldenness in the netherlands because we can now empty some lakes and replace it will farmland. This will then give us more crops (corn and grain etc.) After we emptied the lakes and replaced it will make …show more content…
Some longer, more bigger in width and higher. It depends on the place it is made for. There are dikes that hold back the water of the sea and the major rivers. Those are called primary dikes. Along major rivers lie summer dikes. In winter the water is often so high that it is beyond the summer dikes. Therefore, some dikes are higher than others. The land between the dikes called floodplains.
The Netherlands dike network extends for over 22,000 kilometres. Below is a detailed dike map.
Fluyt
The Fluyt ( translated: fluit ) is a secret weapon of the dutch. A classic three-masted, square-rigged merchant ship. It has a wide, balloon-like hull rounding at the stern and bow and a very narrow, high stern. The Dutch imported relatively cheap wood and tried to mass produce as many parts of the ship as possible in a short amount of time.
It is a ship they use for the WOC. This ship was build by dutch shipbuilders and this gave them an big advantage with trading. The ship had an advantage because this ship can go faster than normal ships because they removed some weapons such as canons that make the boat a lot heavier, so it goes slower. This did make the chance higher of attacks. Also this boat can carry a large cargo and only needs a small crew and is easy to build. This ship is not build as a warship and certainly not protected against

The battle of three and half hours long between ships with guns firing back and forth, Jones finally defeated the 50 gun British frigate ‘HMS Serapi’s’ and the 22 gun hired ship ‘Countess of Scarborough’ after tying the ships together where the guns were fired into each other. The Captain of the ‘Serapi’s’ asked Jones to surrender; Jones yelled “I have not even begun to fight!’ With Jones’ ship badly damaged, he boarded the ‘Serapi’s’ and sailed to Holland with the ‘Countess of Scarborough’ as a
His crew wanted him to turn around and threatened to kill him. So many people died on that ship. People had to even eat sawdust from wood because they were running out of food. The boat started to fall apart on his first voyage, but quickly got fixed up. They faced the lack of wind that helped the boat progress.
The Surface/Landscape Change of Connecticut There are many processes that helped Connecticut's surface and landscape get its shape. Plate tectonics, glaciation, and weathering/erosion are all major factors to this slow process. As shown in page 86 of the science notebook, plate tectonics created many landforms, but two major landforms are the Connecticut river valley and the Appalachian mountains. The Connecticut river valley was created by divergent boundaries. Divergent boundaries are tectonic plates that split apart.

These gunships were often difficult to sea and were difficult to damage. The confederates had a couple gunships. These ships were so tough that a battle between two gunships ended in a draw because the ships were unable to do much damage to each other. Steam technology was added to these ships making them extremely powerful. This changed the way of naval

They think the ship is a disaster waiting to hit water. After a long time the Monitor was finally complete. Captain Ericsson decided to test the ship in the East River. The first time the ship hit the water everyone held their breath. The ship moved around in the waves but did not sink.
Many people are quick to jump to conclusions on people 's personalities due to their appearance and their backstories. The townspeople of Hillsboro makes assumptions of Henry Drummond by saying that he is a horrible agnostic, they even went as far by calling him “the devil” and attempt to restrict him from entering the town just because of the stories they heard about him. In Lawrence and Lee 's Inherit The Wind, it is shown that Henry is actually a praiseworthy character throughout the play even though the townspeople labels him as a terrible person. Throughout the play, he is a strong advocate for the freedom of thought even when opposed by many, all his motives had intelligence behind it, and shows respect and stands up for Matthew
In today decision I would have to say that Texas will remain a Republican Party. The President of the United States is a Republican. My decision would have to be that the Texas Party will stay the same way since the nineteenth seventies till the remaining of the President Donald Trump term. Texas has a lot of factors that helps makes decisions such as age, income, Education, Ethnicity, Religion, and Gender. The biggest factor would be Ethnicity, and why Is because in the 1950’s between 50% and 60% of black voters identified as Democrats.

They also include the replacement of undersized structures such as bridges. These works are necessary, as the original channels have become undersized as a result of the increase in flood flows caused by development. Flash flood also can be overcome with storage ponds of flood attenuation. Ponds such as disused mining pools can be used for flood storage. The objective is to divert the flood water through such ponds and thus regulate the outflow so that the flood peaks are attenuated.
For many years now, it has been debated which of the new and upcoming renewable and sustainable energy sources if the best to use. Energy create from wind, is a very favourable contented in this debate as it is a very good alternative energy source. Wind energy is used all around the world. Humanity has been using wind energy for over 100 years. For example, we used to (some still do) use the wind energy to grind grain in old fashioned wind mills..
