The life changing experience arises when a women becomes a mother. Soon after having children, many women are faced with a very difficult question. Should mothers return to work or stay at home? Having children is an important and the best part a family life. The purpose of this essay will mostly reveal the truth that bearing and raising a child is not a simple walk in the park especially to those working mothers. Parents have to make hard decisions. When choosing between staying at home and working outside, mothers tend to analyze what’s best for their children. There can be both positive and negative implications of working mothers on their children’s development. A working mother with some sense of accomplishment and satisfaction can serve as a good role model for her kids. With her experience and wisdom, they can enrich their children’s life to a great extent. They also help their kids in understanding the value of time, because they get so less of it to spend with the family. Walker, 2012, shared that various working class mothers indicate that stay-at-home mothers are “soap opera watching couch potatoes with no ambition.” (Walker, 2012). Children with working mothers have good role models with responsibilities where the kids are able to look up to their mothers in developing a sense through admiration and appreciation. Working mothers are said to focus more on the quality time with their children and family rather than quantity improving the quality of relationships without any presence of physiological problem. Therefore, this would be unfair if I try to make one side of parenting look better than the other.
