In 1752, on a dark afternoon, Ben Franklin decided to fly a kite in Philadelphia with the help of his son, William. They attached his kite to a silk string, tying an iron key at the other end. They tied a thin metal wire from the key and inserted the wire into a Leyden jar, a container for storing an electrical charge. Finally, as a thunderstorm approached, and the sky darkened, they attached a silk ribbon to the key. Holding onto the kite by the silk ribbon, Ben flew the kite and

history. Not only did Franklin defy in his actions, but as well as his demeanor as he is described as “the bedraggled 17-year-old runaway” (Isaacson 1). This description demonstrates a risk in Franklin’s personality, however, the risks Franklin would come to take revolutionized America. Franklin took an incredible risk when he proved the existence of electricity in lightning, he took this risk by “flying a kite” (Isaacson 4) in ghastly weather and on top of that he “invented a rod to tame it” (Isaacson 4). This risk revolutionized the modern day as electricity is a necessity in the current climate.
Franklin's inventions made many every day tasks of the colonial times a lot easier. Benjamin Franklin was the inventor of the lightning rod and he is well known for his experiments in electricity field. Using only a key, a kite, and a jar, Benjamin Franklin discovered how to conduct electricity. Franklin later constructed the lightning rod, a metal rod attached to the highest point of a building with a cable running it from the rod into the ground, safely conducting the electricity away from the building. No longer would houses and stores catch on fire due to lightning strikes during intense storms.

Joseph Paul Franklin, formerly named as James Clayton Vaughn, Jr. at birth, is a this serial killer that caught the FBI's attention because of just that: killing by intent of race, i.e., wiping out inferior races. Before Franklin came around, this was unheard of in the Criminal Justice system. Surprisingly, for a serial killer that never spoke to his victims, but killed them from afar at 100 yards, got caught in less than five years of his killing spree. Killings sprees are the equivalence of going shopping from one store to another, except that in this case, it involves killing people.
Benjamin Franklin, the author of The Autobiography and Sandra Cisneros, the author of Straw Into Gold: The Metamorphosis of the Everyday both define success and how they achieved it, in their piece of writing. Though they both may seem to have similar views on success, they infact differ greatly. Franklin believes that in order to reach success, one must alter himself through the use of a method, while Cisneros believes that rather than changing himself, one can use his imagination and the small things in life to be successful. Furthermore, Franklin describes achieving success at the moment he starts working towards the goal, whereas Cisneros describes achieving success once she has completed her goals.
The Autobiography of Ben Franklin Ben Franklin is extensively viewed as a great patriot and founding father of American country. A world with nothing but an array of bland colors; no shapes, no lines, and no images. Shapes would be blobs of nothingness, lines would be pure imagination, and images would be nonexistent. Individuals lost without the vital part that eyesight plays, would be seen crashing into walls and the entirety of the world would be untidy and incompetent for human life. A society that is blurry and cloudy is a world where chaos litters. However, this murky world, filled with destruction, eventually came to a halt in 1784, all thanks to a single man named Benjamin Franklin.
C I also found in the text that it says “His Revolutionary idea was to conduct electricity safely into the ground to save buildings from fires.” E This quote shows me that Benjamin Franklin was the only one that one Revolutionary discovery. C The last citation that I had found from the article states “ The simple metal rod connected to a wire made Franklin famous throughout Europe and the
His accomplishments in the field of science truly changed the way people saw the world. Franklin’s kite experiment proved to us that lightning is in fact electricity. He invented the lightning rod soon after which protected homes and buildings from lightning (History.com).
The importance of Ben Franklin has been told all throughout history, along with the famous $100 bill with his face on it. Drafting the Declaration of Independence, foudning universities and libraries, the post office, shaping policies in the U.S., publishing newspapers, making advances in science, and letting us use bifocals and using lighting for electricity. Even if this man never finished school, he did much reading and experiments that help us out today. The reason why I chose to write about Benjamin Franklin was because he was a very important Founding Father and it’s important for people to learn all about
