This paper will discuss on how Creon is a positive force in the story because of his unwavering loyalty towards Oedipus. In several instances, Creon shows that he is a loyal individual towards Oedipus. It is signified in the case where he is sent to Apollo to inquire on the curse that befalls Thebes. He is a big thinker who makes smart executive decisions , and he very encouraging towards his employees and never discourages them when they make mistakes because he know what it mean leadership in his team. The principles that the corporation uses go back to India’s ancient culture and religion which is based on the values of “integrity, hospitality, humility, kindness, and selflessness” (Nahavandi 62). Not to mention, he takes the case without outwardly pleading it is a hopeless cause. To show, Atticus defends Tom Robinson as he would defend any white man, and makes it his civil duty to do this man right. Coupled with Atticus’s personal beliefs, he never shows regret in his obligation to Tom Robinson and his family. In another instance, Atticus respected these citizens even before the case. Though the residents of Maycomb did not agree with him, Atticus stuck to his belief all men are created equal.
Antony can be seen using ethos in this quote: “for Brutus is an honorable man so are they all, all honourable men come I to speak”(III.ii.83-85). This quote shows how Antony utilizes ethos to persuade the people that he is a honorable man because he gives respect and honor to Brutus even though he is not on his side. Furthermore, this also supports Antony because he is saying the people who listen to him have respect for Brutus and will show respect for Antony. Another example, in Antony's speech using the rhetorical device logos is when he says, “I thrice presented him a kingly crown, which he did thrice refuse: was this ambition?(III.ii.97-98). This quote clearly uses logos because the people listening have to use their reasoning and judgement.

In The Tragedy of Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare, characters show loyalty as they obey and protect their master’s despite the consequences. In Gym Candy by Carl Deuker, characters ignore Mick’s actions and remain loyal to him. In Alas, Babylon by Pat Frank, characters show loyalty as they care for their friends and the dead.

Also, in a lot of earlier civilizations and still among some today, there are still kings that rule a group of people, and loyalty to a king still exist. Today, these values still holds true and exist among our civilization. We are still loyal to our President, even though we don’t agree with some of his decision.
The use of the word “unshakable” shows that he admired the strength of the loyalty between the people and Oedipus. Since the reader knows that the country was truly unshakable before the events, it could be seen almost as a metaphor that the country’s strength should be
Also, one thing I really enjoy about King, as a speaker is his how relatable he is and how he practices what he preaches. King promotes equality and peace and does so by acting out his mission to the people he is speaking to. Another reason I picked him is he is a very humble speaker willing to die for his cause and not afraid to fight the difficult fight in regards to a very tough
Slim’s voice essentially granted him trustworthiness, if Slim wasn’t doing the autopsy, no one would be convinced by the result. With time, Slim’s words were basically seen as the objective truth. Based on Slim’s actions, he can be regarded as a generous human being who supports the people around him. Slim had made it pronoun that he was a well-respected role model for his community; with all this authority, he could persuade these men to benefit himself. However, he goes against this ideology and instead sustains the ranch together as a whole.
